    Unhappy Blood Sugar Drops

Hi everyone. When starting to diet down for a competition, is it somewhat normal to experience a dizzy, woozy feeling? I believe it's associated with Blood Sugar drops. I am a week into my dieting process and I experienced one on Saturday and another one today.

Do they go away after a while? Thanks!

What is your diet like? You shouldn't be dropping carbs yet.

I'm not dropping carbs yet. My diet is 1800 cals. Each meal is basically this:

    3oz chicken
2.5 oz potato or 1/3c rice
    6oz carrots/broccoli or 1/2c peas or 6c salad

Of course the first meal is a bit more cals:

    2oz shredded wheat
    1/2 c milk
    8 egg whites

That's about it. Still 18 weeks & 4 days off from competition day.

When I first went vegetarian I used to feel that way. Someone suggested that maybe I wasn't getting enough iron. Since then, I've always taken an iron supplement, and the feeling hasn't returned.

    Hmmm.... seems kinda strange.....

Is this a huge drop in calories for you? I wouldn't think so....

I think it might be an idea to see your doctor - it sounds unrelated to your diet. You may be coming down with something or have low iron as someone else suggested.

I am curious, however, as to how you eat the same meal 5 times a day! Yuck!

haha yeah it's hard to eat the same thing all the time. My trainer told me it was normal & it was just my body adjusting to the no sugar thing. I'm sure it's not a medical related issue....I just ate nothing but crap for a while until I decided to compete for the first time. I'm better now....just a significant drop in cals from what I was used to eating.

    Thanks for the concern.
