    How many reps are ideal for squats

    Do most people go low reps or high reps on squats?
    Being all that I can be is simply not good enough. I will be better.

    Body building is 40% lifting, 40% diet and 40% sleep. And it's always going to be 120% dedication.

    Power lifters eat to help them lift.

    low, like u should train pretty much every other muscle.
    EXCEPT.. on calfs i go high, i dunno why its just a personal belief i look at it like this.
    Since u have been able to walk youve been working your calves, so uve trained them for all them years now they are very tough. So u gotta shock them with huge weight and high'ish reps, they recover fast.
    Probably a stupid theory but it worked for me

    Ideal reps for squats are 2-40. Seriousely. You just pick a range where you want to work and do it, some training stiles use low reps, some high reps, some extreme reps. Youll probably pass through all of them during your career.

    Whatever works for you. There is a 20 rep squat program somewhere that has given people gains. So, you can use pretty much any amount of reps and still see gains.

    I squatted today .. Im in this class for school we were suppose to do 5 x 8
    So I add alot of weight I went 8 , 8 , 6 , 6 , 4
    Just killing my legs , there my strongest part .. I was hesitant at first to put on 2 45lb. plates each side but man it was nothing for me .. MAke sure when you squat you get very low to were its hard to get back up... push your self i see so many kids neglect get full movements in and it kinda pisses me off cause they will try and put up more weight then everyone and have crap form

    if your new to squats i say 10-12 for the first few times training them.... then drop it down to 4-6-8

    i switch it up. I think its best to have a program that goes low (6-8) and then as high as 15-20. You should periodize. It can be good for the body. IMO its a great concept.
