I've been thinking about building a home gym and found this piece of equipment. I could get it for 315 and it has flat/incline bench, squat rack, lat station, lower cable station, leg curls/extensions, pec deck. Nice, right?
Make sure you know what the rack etc can hold. I tried to find out and nobody was able (or willing to tell me). I know York is not known for holding big weights. It might be good for you now if you are a beginner but you will outgrow it rather quickly.
Here is part of an email from a seller :
Although I do not have exact specs from the manufacturer,
I am able to Squat 300-325 and just toss the weight back onto the rack without any issues. And I have used as much as 280 on the lat pulldown. I will find out the specs from York & get back to you soon.
Thanks
I have never heard from him again but find it hard to believe 280 on the lat pulldown. York also refused to answer me.
Thank's, Didn't know that about york. I'll be sure to ask before I order it. Strainge of them not to answer you. And 280 on lat pull down, lol. Maybe if he was a pro bodybuilder or something.
all looks good but watch out for the leg curl...if u got long legs like i got u gotta make sure the bench is kinda high. the gym i used go to had the seat up high. now i go to small gym closer to home the the curl is so low i can't do it proper at all
I would recommend trying to find it in a store and checking it out before you buy it ! For 1 reason if you have it shipped and you don't like it . You lose your money that you paid for shipping and when you send it back, you have to pay for shipping to send it back !! It just happened to me I lost F*ckin $ 86.00 dollars because of that bull**** ! But if your buying it from a store, hell you don't like it take it back . You don't lose no money !
Time to Change to a Better Life and Life Style and what better way than " BodyBuilding "
yes, I'm happy with it. Did standing calf raises with 250 and feel it could hold alot more so I don't need to worry about getting new equipment for a long time.
Finally got me a proper weight set, 340lbs of plates, a 45lbs bar and 5.5lbs locks, 397lbs in total. And the rack still feels like it could take more, but I think I'm set for the next few years, heh. But I do plan to max out(bench)with the whole stack in 18 months, at 285lbs currently. A bit optimistic, I know.
i was thinking of buying the some one..
it was priced at $399 canadian
with no weights... it was too pricey for me...
also i got some opinions from the salesman telling me
he wouldnt recommend sz i would outgrow it..
also the lat pulldown jus didnt feel that smooth
As I said the rack can take 400lbs+ so I wont be out growing it in a while. And the cables can take at least 200lbs+ and sofar the highest I've gone is 175lbs for seated cable rows so won't be having problems with them either.

Sounds like you are/were going to buy a bench in Canada. If you find something good could let me know, becasuse I can't find anything in a decent price range that is still good quality.
I live close to winnipeg so thats probaly where I would pick something up.

I just got that bench for 399. Was it at a musclemag store by any chance?
I set mine up last week. It is very sturdy. Lat pulldown feels great.
do you use the spotter arms while doing benchpress? And how do you do that, because when I use the spotter arms I can't lower the bar to my chest, and if I set the spotter arms a little lower, they are a littble bit under my chest, so if I can't hold the weight anymore, I have a problem :/
they're high enough if you lower the bar to neck level, a bit scary but what can you do.
Last time I benched I didn't set them up and got stuck under 264.5lbs, scary stuff, I was home alone and had to roll the bar over my stomach and yes it did hurt. Luckily I had my belt on for the last set so when I got the bar over that I could sit up and then stand up and rack the bar. Ain't benching anything with out the spotters ever again.
