What foods make your farts smell terrible?

Im completely serious, im just curious what REALLY makes them smell bad, very bad. its usually broccoli for me, and you?

PS... that isn't my whole diet, just what I have decided causes me to be rank

I guess you have a couple of options (both of which I have never tried)

1) Stay home alone all the time. That way, nobody can be offended by your stink.

2) Try beano or some other gas-x type stuff.

I read somewhere (probably an article on this site) about how excess protein that has gone unused by the body results in pretty foul gas. Something about certain bacteria in the stomach. The article suggested its not harmful to have the excess protein, just wasteful. I'd tend to agree with that assessment, as I was really loading up on the protein early on and the gas was bad. Got better when I decreased a bit. I'd say I do about 1.25 - 1.75 grams ber bodyweight. Don't crucify me for suggesting less protein guys, I'm just relaying what I read. I'll try to track down the quote from that article.

BTW, broccoli, asparagus, or beans do it for me...

Its an article on this site by a guy named BigCat. Check this part:

The really noxious smell (as opposed to the "normally" offensive odor :-) is probably caused by a food allergy. For example, I am lactose intolerant (slightly), and I can tell the difference between flatulence caused by my inability to process the milk lactose, from the smell alone. It's different/worse than regular.

Too much protein can have the same effect, altho with not quite a "rank" smell.

Oh man, has to be optimum nutritions protein diet. My wife can attest to this. I would drop these massive bombs at night and youd hear the cats hiss and haul ass out of the room about 25 seconds after I wafted the odor out from under the sheets.
