The worst was The Cult, all these drunk a$$holes from behind just started shoving their way to the front after the forty five minute delay for Ian Astbury to sober up enough to come on. I had to look in between peoples heads to see the band. They sounded great though considering, Billy Duffy rocked it.
Best concert was Accept a few years ago my girlfriend and I where probally eight feet away from the band ! I allways liked them but geez was I impressed, waaay more that what I had expected.

Worst, have 2.. OK start the BOOs, Eric Clapton and Cheap Trick... Couldn't tell what they were playing, Clapton played each song and then add 10 minutes of BS to each, this was during his stoner/drunk days, so....And CT, still not sure what that was....
First concert, Van Halen, VHII Tour, that was a show, (I was 12)!!!!! Stevie Ray, and George Thorogood were great/very fun. Wildest, Motley Cure, Dr. Feelgood Tour, lost my hearing, picked up 4 ladies....came home 2 days later, LOL!!!!!!Mike

I have gone to a zillion concerts over the years: worst by far, no hesitation for me, was ERIC CLAPTON: he decided that night to only play obscure blues songs....
now: I am a big BLUES fan and player myself, but everyone with us, especially my wife, wanted to hear classic Clapton hits....he didn't play one of his hits until the next to the last song!!!!!!!!!
and in between each song, he didn't even look up at the audience, not a word from him, all night, it was just perfunctory without any connection whatsoever with the audience...just terrible experience......Lift as MUCH as you can, for as MANY reps as you can,
while in complete control of the exercise.

James Taylor 1991. I didn't want to go. GF at the time did, so I went. I can't stand him as it is. Way too sappy for me. But to be around all that "sappiness" live. yuuuuck. I could not get out of there fast enough

Went to a concert that was a group of 80's artists. When Missing Persons came out it became immediately obvious that the lead singer was drunk as a skunk. She was slurring her words and could barely stand up. At the end of their "set" they were being loudly booed.
There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

Every show is a good show. However...I took my daughter to her very first concert to see one republic, Carolina liar and someone else, none of whom I listen to. I had to make sure she got up to the rail, got some pics and I even attained cool mom status when Carolina liar walked right in front of us and I grabbed one of em lmao.
She's gone with me to see turbonegro. Now those mofos know how to put on a good show. We've also gone together to see deadmau5/fatboy slim/datsik and bassnectar/ghost land observatory etc. Had a blast, nearly got into a fight with some pushy tards. Being short with lower center of gravity and dressing for war not whoredom, not to mention strong and not drunk, I almost sent a couple of stilt wearing idiots to the ground. I have to teach the kid how to survive in these environments and how to get up front. She knows now and goes to shows and proudly proclaims mom I got up at the rail.
That's my kid makin me proud \m/A successful woman is one who can build a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at her

Ha, John Denver was my first, probably in 1974. I don't really remember anything about it, except that it was in a theater type setting, not an arena. Not much of a concert-goer, so I don't have a real contribution to the thread, other than I'm always kind of embarrassed when people start talking about the first concert they went to.

I went to see Dickey Betts at Stephen Talkhouse (he was the last Montauk indian...) out east from me. There was a big delay and someone comes out and informs us that the show will not go on, Mr. Betts was not feeling well. Turns out he was passed out drunk. We did get refunds though.
I went to a bad one 2 years ago with my son, New Riders of the Purple Sage at a small local place. There was a group a few rows behind us that would not STFU through the whole show. Management talked to them but should have really tossed them out. I think they were doing E or were coked to the gills.

Grateful Dead. It was the last tour before Garcia died and it was pretty bad. Boring, I left before it was over.
Infectious Grooves was also pretty bad. They had nothing going except jumping around and the band kept messing up and skipping parts of the songs.
King Crimson, Royal Crown Review and KMFDM were my favorite venues I have seen.Never under estimate the power of stupidity

Sting. I love The Police, but he was solo, and not a single Police song was done. Lots of drums (like bongos and other drums which were hit with hands only). Those aorund me seemed to be into it, so my focus was on the dancing going on around me.

One of the last concert I went to was Tom Cochrane in Halifax. He played at Dalhousie University - small place.
He was really popular then but somehow there was not many people there. I think it hasn't been advertised much. The crowd was shouting and all but there wasn't enough people for him.
He was pissed at that and he said to the crowd "OK, I'll play Life is a Highway but you guys don't deserve it."
It was so insulting, my then bf and I just walked out when I started playing.** Marie **

Can't think of any really bad ones except I once saw motorhead open for Ozzy in 1992 I think it was. As much as I like motorhead their sound was so muffled it was not good at all. Literally just sounded like noise. Ozzy sounded great that night though and it was overall a really good concert.

The worst? Probably REO way back in the early '80's. Wasn't a fan, but went anyway with some friends. Band might have been okay, but they were so freaking loud that their music and vocals were unintelligible. And I was in the music biz at that time (mixing live sound in medium-to-large-size venues), and was accustomed to loud PA systems.
No brain, no gain.

Trans Siberian Orchestra, we went a few yrs back right after their song Wizard of Winter became a huge hit. It was the 2nd song in the set and the only one that was decent, the rest of it consisted of some guy coming out and talking a lot and treating the show as a play. We left at the intermission and we weren't the only ones, dozens were filing out with us and the ushers were almost begging us to stay by telling us it gets better in the 2nd half but by that time we had had enough.

Went to see Blue Oyster Cult (When the Bouchards were still with them) and they were GREAT. Unfortunately, the opening act was a band called "Girl's School" which was frickin' horrible in every conceivable way. I once went to a Barry Friggin' Manilow concert cause the wife wanted to see him. I think I was only 1 of 3 guys in there and I thought I finally landed in Hell for something I did in a past life. It turned VERY entertaining, however, after the 2nd song when a couple chicks behind me started turning on a drunken woman who had been singing very loudly along with Barry and to top it off, she had a lisp. Hilarity ensued when they started tussling and "Security" had to break it up and drag them out. I always remind the wife that of all the shows I went to, the only one where violence took place near me was at Barry's show.....
