first time doing lunges...they're a lot harder than they look lol.
aside from about 3 sets, this is the only time i've done flat bench press in about 5-6 years. i could have pushed more but wanted to get the feel of it first. i'll probably be doing it regularly in a week or two.reborn.

Lunges are painful, they make me wanna puke. I feel "solid" on my right leg, but my left leg is always shaking and I don't feel comfortable doing them. Anyway, they are pretty effective
Nice workout and your bench press is not too bad. You'll come up in strength I'm sure

Yeah, walking lunges are tough! When I first started, I had horrible balance, it's getting better, thankfully lol. I know they look weird to the usual gym rat, but us educated bodybuilders know what's going on
btw, those squats most have been killer! If life gives you AIDS, make lemonAIDS

Notes:
First full day with flat bench. 275 was very controlled and slow on the way down and i just lost my mental focus on the way up. i expect it to go up next time i'm feeling good. 135x22 at the end was extremely dumb. i was tired to begin with and that just did me in... lesson learned.reborn.

I'm surprised your bodyweight stays so consistent. Mine spans from ~187-206, even when I lift/weight myself at the same time of the day. Also, it seems like I'm heavier when I eat less during the day pre-workout. It makes no sense. I think they mess with the scales or something...

Weekdays are fairly consistent and water intake is similar everyday. I wouldn't be surprised with ~5 pounds daily variation but it ranges a lot more than that. Ah well, no worries as long as I'm upping my strength/endurance and slowly adding lbm.
Oh, and nice volume on your last workout.Mod @ www.all the misc.com

thanks
as long as your strength is continuing to climb, i wouldn't worry much about it than. if you haven't been working out that long, you could experience a lot of fluctuation too.
thanks! the last time i did flat bench regularly was around 6 years ago when i was 135ish and i'd be lucky to hit 225. up until the other day when i tried 225, it has been a big mental block. i had it in my head that i couldn't go beyond it. given that, i'm very happy with how today went. my shoulder is still not 100% either which makes me even more optimistic
lol yep...that's all well and good but at the end of the entire workout! very very dumb tiring myself out like that in the first exercise.
i gotta train smarter...Last edited by IKermit; 06-07-2007 at 10:06 PM.

yeah i saw you do that and i think i might do the same. i didn't exactly have the best rep scheme for a max yesterday but i just wanted a rough idea of where i'm at for a starting point. i'll probably be stealing your method from now on haha.
it's so close i can feel it
thanks...have a great weekend too!
275 who? lol
