Maybe you're not naive, but you're impatient. So you think Bush is lying to everyone because they haven't found chemical weapons (apart from the one's in this article) within a year? eventually, i think we will initiate a regime change, or allow the people there to carry it out because Kim Jong-Il is a ruthless totalitarian dictator. But it's a different situation than Iraq. North Korea will threaten, but they will want something in return. Always have. i.e. food aid and stuff like that, because their communist (or so called) society doesn't work at all. the only thing it works to do is starve all of those people, and fund Kim Jong-Il's pile of money.

I really doubt that was his whole WMD program... If mortar rounds are found to have blister gas in them, then there is bound to be other weapons hidden as well.

You can't just jump from country to country declaring war on them. War costs money, and people, something we can't afford to spend right now. If we had a bigger military, and more spending money, then you can bet your ass that would be in N. Korea right now.

I really could care less if there's weapons there or not. Everytime I see a news report about a mass grave being found in Iraq, it makes me glad we went in and got the bastards out of power.

North Korea the most powerful country? You've got to be kidding right..

No one in their right mind would do the same thing to North Korea that was done to Iraq; North Korea has long range missiles that if equipped with nuclear warheads could kill hundreds of thousands of people in South Korea, Japan, South East Asia, and probably even Hawaii and the most western United States.

It makes sense on a certain level, although I disagree, to go after Iraq before it reaches those capabilities. It doesn't make sense to do it when each side has the nuclear deterrant.

Because the Philippines are a sovereign people with a legitimate government and that government does not want our soldiers there en masse. I believe it would also violate their constitution for a foreign power to get involved against the muslim insurgency. We have advisors there and we provide the Philippines with military and economic aid.

What other countries would you like to see him go to? I doubt you'd approve if he decided to go into Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, etc. At what point does your argument lose validity? Or at what point do you completely change the approach?


Now, I don't support war in general and I think politics and government has become way too muddled with special interest and corruption; and thus the military is in a position where it might, on certain levels, become the tool of bureaucracy but I also don't buy statements that make no sense. And there's really nothing that can be done now, we must stay in Iraq and try to create a good situation, regardless of the precepts.

If it was as easy as you're making it sound we would've found Saddam a whole lot quicker and Osama wouldn't still be releasing tapes.

You could take it to the Orwellian extreme and suggest they're allowing him to run because it allows the precept of a war on terrorism to exist indefinately. But I don't buy that.
