Is there such a thing as too much protein?

I have been ready up on the forums for a couple weeks now. And I seem to remember seeing that there is only so much protein that you should take, any more is useless.

    Is this true?

    Thanks

to a dergree, like 1-2g per pound of bw is the range, any more than 2g per pound would be useless and anything under 1g per pound is unheard of, blasphemy to this board, jk

It can be harmful to kidneys, but this can be countered by drinking lots of water. From what I've researched though, too much protein is really hard to come by... Your kidneys will be fine.
