Why do protein shakes smell soo bad after sitting?

I like to use a special mixer cup or blender for my shakes. I am at college and it isn't practical to wash my stuff every time it is used so i just rinse it out. Often times it smells soo bad the next day i don't understand it.

That is just what protien does. Please wash the cup if not you will never get that smell out of it. I think it seeps into the pores of the plastic.

liquids in room temp + protein is the perfect place for bacteria to grow. You're smelling bacteria infested water/milk (w/e is left over in the cup).

Do yourself a favor and wash that stuff after every use.

Whey is a dairy product, dairy products get sour and nasty....not washing your shaker cup=sour and nasty

I use a little bleach, lots of water and shake it up.

always always wash it.. even if you go into the washroom and use hand soap and paper towels.. it isn't hard.

Wash it after every use other wise you will never get that smell out of your cup. I have had to throw away cups because I forgot about them and the smell was so bad.

At least rinse it thoroughly with HOT water immediately after using the cup.

If you let it sit for any period of time you are growing nasty little stuff...
