should i replace BB Rows, been doing them for about 1 year
ok as far as back exercises go, i always use BB rows at the beginning of my workout, should i switch it up to maybe cable rows?? i've been doing them for about a year so maybe its time for a change, whats a good replacement...or should i even bother replacing them, like maybe with a machine type pull?

ahhh ya...you shouldn't go more than 6-8 weeks IMO on one exercise. You can start with deadlifts, or lat pulldowns, or seated rows, or one arm rows...so many options.

Are you still gaining on them?
You can always replace it with different types of rowing movements (dumbbell row, t-bar row).

I always just make sure I alternate between horizontal pulling and vertical pulling motions throughout my whole workout. So I don't over exhaust one part of my back to early in the workout. I have been really liking DB rows. They hit the lats very well.

honestly.. i dont think you need to replace the "core" lifts.. i feel like barbell row is one of them.. would you stop doin squats.. i havent not done them ever.. for back.. i almost do barbell row year round.. and pullups.. but the other 1 to 2 exercises i always switch up.. also.. just try switching your grip up... maybe go closer, wider, underhand.. try different things like that.. also your rep range def will need to change every 6 weeks or so to make sure that you dont hit a plateau

i would say def switch it if you are bored with them because that is the quickest way to get burned out mentally if you get bored

i would switch to variations but i wouldnt take it out entirely. cable rows are no where near as effective as bb rows.
Chest supported T bar rows are a good alternative as well as Tbar rows.
You can also try yates rows.

Have you plateaued on them? If so, you could do db rows, t-bar rows, Yates Rows, Pendlay Rows, or etc. There is many different horizontal pulls to chose from once you have plateaued.

Add rack pulls to the list of possible replacements.

You don't "need" to replace an exercise, but variation is essential and can help you achieve results.
