like the above poster said. smaller meals spaced out over the day, and i would ease into the diet, dont go head strong into it, you will probably just end up giving in and cheating or giving up the diet all together. i think easing into all of it is the best chance for success. stick with healthy foods that are natural, high protien, good carbs etc. fruits, nuts, the like. but ease into it, such as starting with cutting out real coke and drinking diet and go from there.
as far as the workout program do the same ease into it. ur gonna get gains and fat loss no matter what you do, so no sense in burning urself out and being letdown with no drastic instant results. just take ur time start out a couple days a week, maybe whole body, i only work out 3 days a week, 1 bodypart a week it seems ok to me i have more free time. most people are gonna tell you to go heavy but id make sure you have the form down perfectly before you go too heavy such as the 5x5 programs, u dont want injured. 6-10 or 8-12 is what id go for. dont overload on the cardio 2-3 times a week will suffice, doesnt have to be extremely hard. just walking fast is great beginner cardio(as fast as you can walk before you have to start jogging) its prob. gonna take 6 weeks at least before u have any real noticeable changes to your body, so realize its a slow process the results you want are gonna take awhile so just set small goals for each month and u will get there alot easier. The key is not burning yourself out before you get any results. hopefully i helped out a little.
