I was planning on taking this week off anyways, but I have a very bad cold at the moment. Now, I usually wouldn't eat as many overall calories during a week off as I would when bulking (which I pretty much had been doing until this week off). Should I aim for maintenance calories, or do I need to eat more calories to fuel my body to fight the cold? I don't want to gain any fat nor lose any muscle during this week off.

I was sick with the flu myself for about 5 days (and a few more days of weakness) a few weeks ago. I was just about to end my cutting cycle and start bulking. I figured that since I can't bulk, and with me barely moving all day, I don't need many calories... also, since everything hurt, I didn't really felt if and when I needed to eat like I usually do.
Anyway, I lost a lot of muscle and a little fat. In retrospect I should have eaten more even if it meant gaining a bit of fat.

I had a BAD cold at the beginning of december, and I followed some fellow bb'ers advice, and it lasted 3 DAYS! I thought I would surely be sick for weeks.
Basically 3 things : NO sugar or simple carbs (cold bacteria thrived on sugars), lots of water & chicken broth, and vitamin c tablets every hour.
This was the shortest cold I've ever had.
