You had to know it was coming but it is pathetic IMHO that people cannot take responsibility for what they ingest and the consequences it may bring. Just another reason why so many drugs are illegal: The average American would rather blame someone else than be responsible for themselves. This is just disgusting in my opinion:

Huge BUMP!!! You nailed it on the head. No one is responsible, its always someone else's fault. Sad thing is we keep allowing the fed to do these things.

This government is a complete joke.... I hope one or two polticians read this because to tell you the truth, you do nothing to help us. (american people) All you do is make sure you wallets are nice and fat and live luxrious life styles on our tax money.. Ban ephedra??? You must be kidding me...Oh let me guess, you guys weren't making enough tax money on ephedra like you do on cigerettes or alcohol so you banned it.... It makes me laugh when you publish the very small ephedra related deaths to try and prove your points, but in reality makes you look like a fool.. Let's take a look at the amount of cigerette related deaths within the last month, its higher than the total amount of ephedra related deaths EVER! I won't even get into the alcohol related deaths or DUI deaths or domestic violence death because I will only make sound more and more like you brains are the size of a pigeons, even though they are.... I also love how you keep throwing pictures of the mother of the pro baseball player who they want you to believe died from heat stroke caused by ephedra???? Let me ask you, why would you take ephedra on a 107 degree day and not drink much water???? My sources told me, that he took 3 to 4 time the recommended dose and went out drinking the night before.. Hmmmmm Geeez I wonder why he was dehydrated... Another dip ****, instead of being a pro baseball player he should be in congress, he would fit right in...
The point is I'm pissed off, and I have a right to be... I have been taking ephedra for 5 years with out ONE problem... What gives you the right to tell me what I can or cannot put onti my body... Do you live my life??? Do you pay my bills?? NO, so stop trying to live our lives for us and basically in plain english &*(^ Off!!! I think what it comes down to is that your all fat ugly out of shape losers ( Besides Arnold, no offense to Arnold I love him) who have never set foot in a gym or have work out hard ever in there lives ro even care to dare and look good.... I can only imagine whats next.....

Although I have taken ephedra, I do not use it. Yet, even as a "non-user," this law still makes no sense to me for the reasons already cited. It is nothing more than a patronizing reaction by our publicity-seeking politicians to their "victim mentality" voter base.

Ephedrine HCl is not effected by the ban, only the herbal version: ephedra.

Isnt that what most ephedra fatburners have? Im just asking cause im not really sure whats going on, but if ephendrine HCl is not under the ban then this doesnt really effect us that much... other than to assume that ephendrine hcl will be next to be banned.

Most OTC weight loss supplements w/ ephedra have ephedra standardized for ephedrine alkaloids.
Ephedrine HCl is not made from the herb, but is synthetic. It is considered a drug, and not a dietary supplement.
Since it is only sold as a broncialdialator in some cold medicines, there is little chance of it being banned.

If ephedrine HCL is not banned, then you can still use Vasopro which seems to be a favorite to many.

i actually am quite interested to see what the underground industry can come up with with regard to ephedra products. i would love nothing more than to throw this **** back in the government's face in the form of a thriving illegal trade. the lunacy will be complete when the DEA starts putting people in jail for life for possessing powdered ephedra. lol.

Actually ephedrine isn't banned in Canada, I don't know how people get the idea that it is. There are regulations on the size of the tablets allowed to be sold, limited to 8mg in size. That wasn't an issue until recently, when the amount per bottle was dropped from 300 tabs down to something like 50 I believe. It's getting harder to get the stuff north of the border, but it's not banned as of yet.

maybe its just me... but compare how many people have died, had bad side effects... to that of someone who takes asprin. they havent banned asprin, and yet it kills many every year and has serious and long lasting side effects. there are so many other things that are far more dangerous than ephedra that they dont ban. its all about money and power, and supplement companies have neither compared to a major pharmaceutical company. its all just insane bull**** that hurts my head to try to comprehend why they do this. they punish people who try to take care of themselves or better their health, and promote beer drinkers on tv and endorse a sloth lifestyle.

"Ephedra mimics the actions of a very powerful neurotransmitter, adrenaline or epinephrine, and has its effects throughout the body and the brain. You can build up toxicity slowly or you can develop toxicity almost immediately, depending on the product taken and your own metabolism. Death is not the only measure of toxicity, you can have your health permanently ruined without actually dying. "
Someone explained this to me, but I think a lot of it does weigh on prior health condtions.
