complex carbs

Hey I was wondering where everyone gets their complex carbs from? What are good sources for breakfast and early brunch? I usually eat oatmeal but I would like to have other options to play with. I think fruit are considered complex carbs too (don't quote me on this I just think i heard it from someone before). I love fruit but I'm trying to stick with only one serving a day and getting more veggies in. Anyone have any sugestions? thanks in advance for any advice.

I don't believe fruits are..

Whole grain breads(sliced,english muffins, bagels)
Oats are really the best one, and you can make 100 combinations from it...(it pretty much takes on the flavor of whatever syrup, sugar, jelly, etc you put in it)

A good variation for oats is oat bran. It has a great nutrient profile, and has the consistency of cream of wheat.

Lentils are great - I've only tried them for the first time in my life a few day ago. Taste great - like a mixture between sweet peas and beans. Can't believe they also have a very low Glycemic Index - only 25!

for breakfast you can make a breakfast burrito basically scrambled egg whites with whole wheat tortilla...any whole wheat bread...whole wheat pasta....basically if it contains the word whole wheat its a complex carb.
