Hey, im new to the boards, im 14 years old and my goal is to bench press 305 pounds before i turn 15, which is in around two months. My current bench press is at 285, i might get 290 in a week or two. Any ideas on how to reach my goal of 300 or 315. I weigh 197 pounds and im 6-1.
I have been reading post for awhile now and i have noticed that people have a hard time believing other people's feats. I too disagree on many post people put up as well, it is funny to read at times, if there are some , or many who do not believe me , thats fine, if there is anyhing out of the ordinary.
PLEASE GIVE ME A CLOSE TO"GUARENTEE" FOR MY GOAL!!!

FBI agent Scully : This is just a simple lie-detector test. I'll ask some simple questions and you should answer with yes or no. Do you understand?
Homer : Yes.

gain 15 lbs (dont care where it comes from) and train bench twice a week using no higher than 3 reps and no lower than 6 sets and I think youll reach your goal. Worth a shot if you dont mind gaining fat.
So close to 10k, green is my favorite color nom saiyan?

i hate smith. it feels so weird doing bench. at my school there are no free weights only the smith machine and this crappy universal lol. they dont want anyone to get hurt and sue i guess. but post in the powerlifting section and read some articles about increasing your bench.

I play football so we have to lift every other day, i bench 2 to 3 times a week, 5 reps 4 sets of 230.
when i did 285, i unracked it myself, brought it down under control touched my chest threw in a slight arch not noticable and brought it up evenly.

very good stuff, i hit 305 as a 15 year old and 315 about a month later. its definately possible.
what got me up there was pyramiding.
make your sets look like this.... Im going to use my weights as Im too lazy to calc percentages. This is what I was doing when I put up 305...
Warmup - 10 (135)
First set - 10 (195)
2nd set - 8 (215)
3rd set - 6 (235)
4th set - 4 (260)
5th set - 2 (285)
6th set - 2 (295)
7th set - 8 (215)
Some may say overtraining, but it worked WONDERS for me. Also, make sure your transition is smooth, work some negatives at about 315 to get a feel for it.
Also, pump up the triceps (a LOT), shoulders, and lats, that will help. Otherwise good luck!
(and yes, 16.5" arms are big, im 16, been lifting two years, and only have 16", heh, guess you got the good genetics)
best of luck, keep us updated!"The difference between heart and hunger is... You can have alot of heart, but when hungry you can take someones heart."
