Well went to the Doc today for swelling and mild tightness in my right knee. After he bent my leg in every imaginable way said that it might be from tendonitis, or my knee cap shifting during squats. He prescribed a a Neoprene knee sleeve (didnt know they had these in prescription form) and gave me a anti-inflamatory. He said I can start back up on Monday, so I guess we'll see what happens.
Anybody ever use one of these knee sleeves? any disadvantages to them?

If it's a knee cap tracking issue then the knee sleeve should help since it'll stabilize the patella. If that is in fact what your problem is. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia patella, where basically the underneath part of the knee cap has gotten rough and causes a lot of discomfort when I flex my knee. In that case I don't want a knee sleeve and I don't wear wraps because it pushed the patella against the knee even harder, causing me more pain.
SUMMARY:
Try the knee sleeve, but if it doesn't help then don't hesitate to toss it out.Meet PRs @220

On occassion. When it really flares up, pain-wise, there tends to be a fair amount of swelling. I had x-rays and MRI's done, and had two different docs say the same thing, chondromalacia patella.
