cottage cheese oatmeal
You know, I LOVE oatmeal and I LOVE cottage cheese, but I never thought to have cottage cheese in my cooked oatmeal until I read about it on these forums. As a vegetarian (ovo-lacto), I'm always looking for ways to boost my protein count (a little easier since I've started using fitday three months ago). Now I'm OBSESSED w/ putting cottage cheese in my oatmeal in the morning. One of my favorite breakfasts is 1/2 c. rolled oats, 1/2 c. 2% cc, 1/2 c. frozen unsweetened blueberries and maybe half a banana or 1/2 c. grapes (I'm weird in that I love putting grapes in my breakfast hot cereals). I have that w/ 1 Stonyfield yogurt (different flavors).
I love these forums!

I've never tried cottage cheese in my oatmeal, but you think that's good, try browning your oats in a pan with some cinnamon and sweetener of your choice, then tossing them over your cottage cheese with some fruit. It's soooooo good!

I'd love to hear some more vege meals ideas with high protein intakes - I find it really hard going eating meat, but love cc and eggs.

Please check out my profile. A few wks. ago, I posted a link to my fitday journal, with my daily intake, my exercise and my musings on how I feel re: what I am eating, what I am doing.

That's what I love. Cottage Cheese, Oatmeal, Blueberries. It's pretty much the only thing I eat for breakfast and has been for years. So simple and easy and YUM! Of course, I have to treat myself to an egg white omelet from time to time, but hey, those require a lot more prep!

Mrs. Muscles: Everyday for breakfast, I have either oatmeal/cc/frozen fruit/flaxseed/whey protein OR oatmeal/eggbeaters/frozen fruit/flaxseed/whey protein. As you can see, I just switch cc for eggbeaters about every other day. Try putting eggbeaters in oatmeal (or liquid egg whites). Yum!

Oatmeal/Cottage Cheese
This morning was my first time trying it, ironic that I came across this thread. It was really good:
1/4 cup cottage cheese,
1/4 cup oatmeal,
(from a frozen bag of fruit) I added 2 slices of peaches, 2 strawberries, cinnamon,
5 drops of stevia, and 1 tsp. of honey.

combining them makes great pancakes too:
.5 cc
40g oats
1 tsp ground up flax
1 scoop pro powder (I used bsn cinn. bun)
little bit of water
mixed it up in the blender, cooked up the pancakes and on top i put a tbsp of apple butter!
it was delicious!

I have been living off cottage cheese, berries, and kamut flakes (just like oatmeal) with a dash of cinnamon for months. I find it is the only meal that keeps me full for a couple of hours! It is also really easy to put together when you are half awake. I warm up the berries so that it the cottage cheese melts a little bit!
