Summer FOotball Camps
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Camps will definetly be beneficial. I would say go to at least one this summer maybe a few if youd like, but during the summer before your senior year you should go to as many as possible. These camps are the best way for college coaches to see you in person before your senior year, which makes them great for getting noticed. At the very least attending a camp or two this summer will get you on some mailing lists and youl start receiving recruiting materials from some schools.

2nd of all id say it is definitely beneficial to go to those camps....they send those packets out to EVERYONE (they are planning on the kids that want to go there to show up and perform!) and if you are interested than you should go....itll let them know you are interested and if you perform well, they will keep pushing after youGrowing like a weed

I was invited to Princeton's but it's just too far for me to travel. I plan on going to a couple this summer. It's definitely a great way to make an impression on coaches, and I wish I would have taken advantage of it last summer. Pay attention closely, look coaches in the eye if you're talking to them, bust your ass, and try to stand out. I remember at one camp I went to last summer we were doing 7 on 7 with just shoulder pads and helmets and the first play this LB absolutely drills the WR and tackles the guy. The coaches of course said STAY OFF THE GROUND but you could tell they loved it. He definitely got some attention from that.

What if I feel that I might make a bad impression by going. I don't feel like I'm strong or fast enough to compete yet and as some of you know, I really wanna go to Stanford or an Ivy League for college. However, I think if I don't perform, then that'll be negative to my overall chances.

Chances are, if you don't perform well then it won't negatively affect you because they just won't notice you. You're only 15. You have plent of time to improve. The majority of guys get offered after their junior or senior football season. You have a lot of time from now until then. By going to the camps you'll learn some of the drills that they do every practice and possibly see what it takes to be on a D1 team. IMO it can only help you.

Dont go to a d-1 camp to get attention from that school unless they have contacted you. That would be a waste of money. If you wanna go for fun then y not? Dont exspect to get recurtied just because you went to a camp. Its a big money maker for the schools...

I'm less interested in getting recruited. I'm just wondering what kind of drills and stuff they do and I'm wondering if this will seriously help me out in football.

I'm aiming for a ivy league school or Stanford, thats why. Big 10 Schools aren't that great educationally. If you go to an Ivy, you're pretty much set for like the next 20 years of your life.

Of course you would ahve to do good to get attention. I personally know a guy that got attention from clemson by going to a camp when he was 16 and they split up into class and they had him with seniors on accident and he dominated. they then started recruiting him pretty hard. Unfortunately he isn't really chasing a football career. More of a basketball guy on the account he was all-state SG as a junior.

if you want to be a defensive lineman go to the OLE MISS football camp. COach ogeron is the best d-line in football. He's coached warren sapp, kenechi udeze, mike patterson, lajuan ramsey, and about a thousand other lineman taken in the draft.

does he coach you every single guy, no way he'll have time for everyone.

i dont tell people where i go to school....i do play d1 football for im just paranoid about givin out personal info online (a buddy of mine got his identity stolen 2 years ago)
but im tellin both of you guys, go to the camps of the colleges that are talkin to you....if you show them wasup and that you are interested in them as well, they will keep workin it with you. the only camps i wouldnt go to are the ones that have like 1000s of kids.....i remember Oregon sent me their 2 camp brochures when they came to my h.s. One was their 1 day camp (1 on 1 with your position coaches) and their padded camp (which had like 800 kids and like 15 teams, impossssssible to work with your coach and show him wasup)
id personally go to a big school where you know its gona be hard to compete and choose a school where you think you have a good chance of gettin looked at ....whether it be a DIAA or a MAC or WAC schoolGrowing like a weed
