What is the best bicep curl?

Should I use an EZ Curl bar or a straight bar? What is the difference between the two?

    Thanks!

if your wrists allow you to use teh straight bar, do so
more stress on the Bis and less Brach involved
Who was this love of yours?

Neither is better or worse, just different.

EZ bar puts slightly more stretch on the biceps so it favors the outer head slightly more. Straight bar favors the short (inner head) a little more.

    Use whichever one feels best.

Try them both, whatever hits your biceps best and is the most comfortable on your joints is the one you keep.

The straight bar places your hands in a fully supinated position. This will give you greater biceps recruitment. Not everyone's wrists can tolerate this so use what your flexibility permits.

I've personally found that the E-Z bar is less strenuous on my wrists and gives me more range of motion (regarding my elbows), but it's about what works for you...

Yes...because the hands are closer to a semi-supinated position (neutral or hammer).

If you can use a straight bar without any discomfort then use the straight bar. I stopped doing regular barbell curls and now do drag curls. It's pretty much the same except you drag the weight up your torso and the delts don't get involved in the lift. It really hits your bi's hard.

I only discovered spider curls 2 weeks ago but I've seen results. I do supersets of ez bar spider curls, then DB concentration curls, 12 reps with strict form each.
