    Syntrax Nectar

I swear.. this must be the best tasting protein I've ever had!!! I got fuzzy navel and I've never tasted something so delicious. I eat it with my meals and just mix it with water. Finally a protein that really does taste delicious.

    Two thumbs up!
    I box, drink, and swear.

I must admit that the idea of a "citrus-flavored" protein was not appealing to me at all. (I don't like the strawberry flavored proteins I have had in the past.) I finally tried the Fuzzy Navel flavor and realized I have been making a mistake by prejudging. That was the best tasting protein I have ever tasted.
    Always learning.

I've heard a lot of good things about the taste - since you guys have the stuff, could you tell me how many grams of protein there are per serving? Is Nectar basically just a whey protein?

It's a whey protein isolate (even better than 100% whey, actually). There are 23 grams of protein in a serving. I also recall that it has zero carbs and zero fat and does not contain aspartame.

Oh right, "reloaded" or something. Damn, Syntrax has got it going on. With a fat-burning lineup like MM4/Guggulbolic/Beta3, and a muscle-building lineup like Swole V2/Nectar/I****trix, I think I might have to start buying more of their stuff - they definitely seem to be getting more and more attention and respect on these boards. Plus I think they just came out with a new glutamine formula as well.

A quick question about I****trix - do you guys take it with/after meals, or more as a meal-replacement? Or does this really depend on bulking/cutting? Thanks

i thought the best technique was spoon-mixing it in very cold water...that way, you got the perfect taste, without all of the foaminess from the blender. absolutely excellent

I only use straight whey postworkout, which is three times weekly so it lasts quite a while and doesn't end up too costly.

Here's an idea that I have found to work well as it helps you in your workouts AND saves you money:

Purchase your typical economy-class whey (ON 100%, Dymatize Elite, etc) and a tub of something that is higher quality or tastes delicious (or both, like Syntrax Nectar). On your hardest or least favorite workout day, treat yourself to the tastier/higher quality shake post-workout. This will give you motivation to lift that day and will keep you from going through an entire tub of the more expensive stuff in a short amount of time.

Hope this helps some people; getting through that last set of squats is a little more bearable with Fuzzy Navel just around the corner!

I also use Bioplex Pure WPI, another good quality whey protein isolate, and it costs $1 more per jug here at BB.com than the Syntrax Nectar. I think WPI is worth it--because I'm worth it. Besides, the biological value of WPI is a lot higher than regular whey (157 vs. 104).
    Always learning.

BV is supposed to be measured on a scale no higher than 100.

Eggs, which were once thought to be perfect, are rated at 100. As it turns out, whey protein is better.

A lot of you mentioned earlier that you mix v2, for example, with your protein - is mixing creatine/protein post-workout as effective as taking them separately? I remember when I took the Cell/Nitro Tech stack (don't worry, I'm not an idiot anymore), it said to take the creatine first, and then wait an hour before taking protein. But does it really matter?

Nope. In fact taking whey protein with your carbs and creatine actually makes less carbs needed for the same insulin spike.

"Insulin spike?" Why would there be an insulin spike mixing whey and creatine? There's not really any sugar in that mix to spike your insulin - right?

A study showed that 50 grams of whey and 50 grams of dextrose had the same effect on an insulin as 100(maybe it was 75) grams of dextrose. Thus showing that whey contributes to an insulin spike so less dextrose is needed yet the creatine is still being used properly.

Read somewhere that the numbers you have are actually the chemical score, but can't find where any more. Oh well, I'm off today.

Right, but if you have whey (1g sugar), and a type of creatine with little or no sugar (V12/v2), how does that combine to give you an insulin spike of 75g dextrose? That's like Cell-Tech, which has 75g sugar in it for an insulin spike, but what about creatines with no sugar?
