the chances are you can do more than that so stick with bench presses, dips, and maybe some flyes.

Push up s are only effective for muscle endurance training , to get big you need the heavy benches , dips , db presses and such exercises

push ups aren't very good for chest mass, they are fairly good for endurance though. Just stick with DB/BB bench for building up your chest.

well, while I'm at it... do you recommend DB presses or BB presses for building chest mass? Or is it a personal preference issue?

any suggestions on QUICK chest mass exercises?

its really moreso what works for you. Some gain mass easier with DBs or BBs. I myself gain mass easier with DBs and strength faster with the BB. Dips are another good exercise for your chest.

BB or dbs are pretty much equally effective , more of a personal preference thing .............

    Good chest workout :

3 sets of flat db or bb press
3 sets of incline db or bb press
    3 sets of weighted dips

keep reps beetween 4-6 for each set

U can make pushups more challenging by adding weight, just toss a plate on your back.... if you outgrow a 45lber, You can be like me and duct tape a couple together.... but I work out at home, and I dont think your gym owner would apreciate you screwing around with his(or her) plates

they're okay, but unless you're training them for a specific purpose (e..g, militiary), stick with heavy dips and pressing movements

Pushups = not good for building chest

Heavy Weighted Pushups = why not just do bench press?

Once you get to that point where pushups are just an endurance activity, they just won't put on that muscle mass for you.

Not very, they have a limited ROM.

That said, I think most noobs would do better benching if they could already do 3x15 pushups.
    Stats(5RM): 165kg squat, 105kg bench, 182.5kg deadlift.
