    Stretch marks

Horror of Horrors! I've got stretch marks along my triceps and down my side. Apparently there's nothing to be done about them now, but I'm confused about why I even have them. My weight hasn't gone up or down more than a few pounds in the last two years - I'm 5'7" and 143-145 lbs. I have gotten leaner, but my size/measurements haven't really changed.

How can I prevent this? Just don't lift so hard?????

    Thanks

Were you ever fat? You could of gotten them when you were a kid, if you grew to fast as well. Use lotion on prone areas to reduce the risk, dont allow your workout intensity suffer for something you can prevent. I have them from when i was a little porky 11 years old.

Nope. Always really skinny as a kid. Under 125 until mid-twenties. Now 35 years old. Never, ever had a big weight change (5 lbs over a year, about three years ago was biggest change ever). Diet good - take my vitamins. Plenty of protein, plenty of good fats. I don't even think my measurements have changed much. Like I said, I've gotten somewhat leaner, but in clothes I look no different.
Huh. Guess it's just one of those things. I think I just won't increase my weights so quickly.

How do you prevent? From what I've read, only cutting out weightlifting, or not growing, prevents them. I'm not stopping lifting!

Go to any drug store and buy Mederma cream. Amazing. I have them under my armpits and it works. It is expensive and takes a couple months but helps them fade. Tanning also helps. But try to get rid of them bf tanning bc sun makes scars turn hard and darker. It is applied 2-4 times a day. The more the better. My dermo told me about this, said it is better then anything that can be perscribed. Hope this helps.

Boost up on vitamin E, seems to work good for me, coco butter might help too.

This sight has a wonderful cream called Barmons. It will not make your stretch marks go away but it does an excellent job of fading them so that the are not as visible. I've used it an stretch marks from being pregnant and I think it works great.
If you fall it doesn't mean you failed. It only means that you dared to climb higher.

Thumbs up to the vitamin E, it's great for stretch marks. I have them along my arms, stomach and back, but thats from being fat, time really helps too, they will fade, most of mine are a slightly lighter color than my skin.
