Does the ab slide/ab roller work?

I was jost wondering does the abslide/ab roller work at all. Because when I borred an abslide from y cousin it made my abs sore the next day. And I'd rather do the ab slide rather than crunches, just my opinion...

yes they work and it works well because i use one instead of doing situps and crunchs out of my ass.
    15 Years old 5'11'' 143lbs and 9% bodyfat.
I am so tiny and i was tired of people walking overtop of me so i started bodybuilding. Now i couldn't live with out it. I have trained for about 8-9 months and have gained about 15-20 pounds of muscle. I will keep this posted just for the heck of it.

See thats the problem! Say for example I worked my shoulders and back monday, and i do my abs tuesday with the abslide will that be too much stress or "overtraining" for my back and shoulders? But if not I'll go out & buy one!
