What typically happens...
Sorry for the newbie questions! I am just trying to get an idea of how things are run at a show.
-If competitors have to meet at 8:00am and pre-judging doesn't start until 11:00am what do you do in between those times?
-When do you typically put your suit on - how far out from actually going on stage?
-Once pre-judging starts do you have to remain backstage the whole time or do you just go back there when the time gets closer for you to go on?
-What is it like backstage? Are there places to put on/change your suit or is everyone in one big room and getting dressed together?
-Don't laugh...do you girls wear underwear under your sweat suit/comfy clothes before pre-judging and in between shows? I'm worried about indents or rubbing my tan off.
-In between the 1pc & 2pc rounds are you rushed or is there plenty of time to change and get composed before going back out?
Ok I might have more but I'm just going to start with this! Thanks in advance for your responses. I truly appreciate you helping a fellow competitor out!

Alot of these questions are going to depend upon at least two things: How big your show is and how well it is run by the promoter. So I will try to answer under each question in caps...

-If competitors have to meet at 8:00am and pre-judging doesn't start until 11:00am what do you do in between those times? WAIT. SOME GIRLS COME TO THE SHOW UNREADY OR HALF READY BUT THAT IS TAKING A CHANCE IF THERE ARE MIRRORS/OUTLETS. I DON'T LIKE DOING THAT SO I WILL COME FULL READY AND BRING MY STUFF TO TOUCH UP.
-When do you typically put your suit on - how far out from actually going on stage? ALMOST EVERY NPC SHOW THAT I HAVE DONE JUDGES 2 PC ROUND FIRST, SO THAT IS WHAT I USUALLY COME TO THE SHOW IN, UNDER SWEATS. HOWEVER SINCE YOU HAVE LOTS OF TIME BETWEEN THE MEETING AND THE STAGE, IT WOULD PROBABLY BE BEST TO WEAR SWEATS FOR THE MEETING AND CHANGE WHEN YOU GO BACK STAGE. LEAVE YOURSELF TIME TO APPLY ANY OTHER TAN/SHINE PRODUCTS AND GLUE YOURSELF INTO YOUR SUIT.
-Once pre-judging starts do you have to remain backstage the whole time or do you just go back there when the time gets closer for you to go on? YES YOU SHOULD REMAIN BACKSTAGE. THERE IS USUALLY A SCHEDULE POSTED BACKSTAGE ABOUT HOW THINGS WILL OCCUR, BUT SOMETIMES THINGS GO FAST AND YOU WILL BE OUT THERE IN A HURRY. I HAVE BEEN TO A CONTEST WHERE THEY CALLED A CLASS TO GET READY AND ONE OF THE COMPETITORS WAS NOT THERE AND SHE DID NOT GET TO COMPETE. BE READY AND PAY ATTENTION.
-What is it like backstage? Are there places to put on/change your suit or is everyone in one big room and getting dressed together? THIS TOTALLY DEPENDS ON THE FACILITY. IT IS LIKELY THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE INDIVIDUAL DRESSING ROOMS, SO BE PREPARED TO CHANGE AND GET READY IN ONE ROOM (MEN AND WOMEN SEPERATE, OF COURSE). SOMETIMES PROMOTERS BRING IN MORE MIRRORS FOR THE COMPETITORS BUT I ALWAYS BRING A HAND HELD.
-Don't laugh...do you girls wear underwear under your sweat suit/comfy clothes before pre-judging and in between shows? I'm worried about indents or rubbing my tan off. NO I DON'T.
-In between the 1pc & 2pc rounds are you rushed or is there plenty of time to change and get composed before going back out? TOTALLY DEPENDANT ON AMOUNT OF COMPETITORS AND PROMOTER. THEY TRY TO ACCOMODATE THE FIGURE COMPETITORS BY SCHEDULING BB'S IN BETWEEN BUT AGAIN, DON'T GO ANYWHERE AND BE READY.
Ok I might have more but I'm just going to start with this! Thanks in advance for your responses. I truly appreciate you helping a fellow competitor out!

Show normally start around 9am, so you get there at a meeting an hour early then get a space backstage and you are there until stage times then are still there until released, depending on how many times you have to go out for your class or classes.
-When do you typically put your suit on - how far out from actually going on stage?
depends on what round is first but I usually come dressed with sweats over.
-Once pre-judging starts do you have to remain backstage the whole time or do you just go back there when the time gets closer for you to go on?
Mostly yes, at the World Trifitness it is so big that you just have to keep track of who is on and your number and you can go and come back, but again the onus is on you to be there ready on time or you miss your stage call. MOst shows you must stay there.
-What is it like backstage? Are there places to put on/change your suit or is everyone in one big room and getting dressed together?
depends on the venue, they do their best but factors like the venue and number of competitors will vary things. I have had situations with no mirrors, no change area other than curtains or even less......
-Don't laugh...do you girls wear underwear under your sweat suit/comfy clothes before pre-judging and in between shows? I'm worried about indents or rubbing my tan off.
no
-In between the 1pc & 2pc rounds are you rushed or is there plenty of time to change and get composed before going back out?
depends on how the show runs and how many competitors in each class as well as the judges and how long they take. Normally the promoter try to space things out right, especially with gals competing in more than one category.
Ok I might have more but I'm just going to start with this! Thanks in advance for your responses. I truly appreciate you helping a fellow competitor out!

Hope that helps!
