So I try to drink alot of water to keep myself from retaining too much water and to keep hydrated, however I consume the majority of my water within 4 hours after school. I would drink evenly throughout the day, but I have school (it's like a juvenile bootcamp, fuq'd up and got landed in there for 180 days), and you basically have twice a day to go to the restroom, last time I drank an appreciable amount of water (like 2 bottles) I had to piss so ****ing bad it was painful, had to hold it like 2 hours, walking out when denied permission to go to the restroom isn't really an option, as that can land you in jail (because the bootcamp is directly across from the juvenile detention). So, just wondering if this is alright, I'm tired as hell when I get home which is an hour drive away, and can't really be staying up long trying to spread out my water intake. Just wondering if this is safe

Ah, got it. This whole time when people say "drink more water to prevent water retention" I thought they meant to drink excessive amounts of water beyond what was needed to stay well-hydrated, but if they actually mean drink enough to prevent dehydration that would make more sense to me regarding physique appearance.

You likely don't need a gallon per day to stay hydrated. The gallon per day advice is pure broscience. Even the 8 glasses per day is more than most people need.
