Mineral supplement...Joint Supplements

K, 2 questions

One, how many of you take mineral supplements.....is it that vital, and finally what brands if any do you recommend.

Secondly, my mom has been asking me to get her some supplements for her and her aching bones/joints. I know its chondro something, but I remember seeing a mixture of 2 or three items that people recommended.

For joints, I believe you are referring to glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate (CSA), and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). My husband uses some stuff made by Sci-Fit called Joint Enhance + MSM and he says it works well.

I take a calcium, magnesium, and zinc tablet 3 times a day since I don't eat much dairy and it's recommended that pre-menopausal women get 1000 -1200mg of calcium a day for bone health and to help prevent osteoporosis. So I take three 999mg tablets a day with meals. Some vitamins/mineral brands are much better than others but I get what I can afford, I pick up whatever is available at my local grocery store. I also take potassium (99mg tablets) 3 times a day with meals. I no longer get calf cramps since I've been doing that.
