Hey all, Yesterday I did triceps and I tried both close-grip bench with a regular barbell and with an ez-bar.
I loved the ez bar and it didn't hurt my wrists at all and I really felt it in my tri's.
When I did the regular bar it always hurts my wrists even when I have good form and I have triedmany hand positions.
Will I get a good result If i use the ez-bar instead of the regular barbell?

Spotter lol. Ya I was thinking about that. I CG Bench 105. How am I gonna lift that much weight off the floor and swing it up to my chest and then fly back on the bench and start benching it. lol
I think I"ll use a spotter.......no better yet I'll stick with a regular 45pound bar.The Iron never lies to you. if your wrists are hurting chances are your grip is too close. should be palms over elbows, none of this 6'' apart crap you see most people doing in the gym.

I have to agree. I was watching a guy doing them the other day and he could not hardly balance the bar his hands were so close. I got him to try reverse grip bench instead and he seemed to like the feel in the tricep more so than doing them close grip.
oooh, reverse grip ownsBooo

lol thats exactly what I do. I swing the bar off the floor and swing it to my chest and then lay back on the bench its funny how people think alike I would ask my dad but hes a bum he doesnt respect weights, all he does is calisthenics and disses the bench press and said that pushups are for men and id like to say that he did grow some impressive triceps from it but i still think thats a pussy workout pushup and calisthenics. anyway I cant do as much as weight but i dont have a spotter so i just do that method and then start benching but can annyone tell me if its okay to do regular bencch presses and barbell curls on a ez bar?

I have a right shoulder injury which i had surgery on 2 years ago and is still not 100%....when i try close grip bench for tri's...it kills my right shoulder then im sore when chest day comes around, any suggestions/ better exercises i can do for tri's w/out hurting my shoulder...possibly the ez bar? thanks

Thanx guys forr all your opinions.
yeah, I'm not that strong yet so for example, last time I did CG bench with the EZ bar I didn't even need a spotter I just kinda laid it on my chest.
Yeah It's not that heave that I need a spotter, but after a while, when I get strong I will need a rack so then I will have to use the straight bar.
My main concern was that if it was as effective to use an ez-bar as a straight bar.

EZ curlbar CG are kwel as long has you don't do heavy weight.
then it's a real hassle racking big weight.
sometimes we do EZ CURL floorpresses but you need a partner who doesn't mind doing some deadlifts.Booo
