Some friends of mine have been telling me that i shouldnt work my legs because it'll stunt my growth. At first i was like thats rediculous but then my friend who broke his shoulder said that his doctor said shoulder press stunt your arm growth because it mashes ur growth plates together.
Any truth in these?
Im a football player so i need all the leg muscle i can get but i also need every inch.

I would say these things hold no weight in fact, weight training is proven to aid bones in their long-term life, giving you the strength to stay strong into old age, you tell them to get you their proof and show you, I would personally say the opposite, as your building the muscles up. Besides in the UK, my local gym age is 14yrs+ it has to be that for a reason, they wouldnt make the age limit so as people could walk in and damage their bodies.
my pics are old...new one's coming soon! BTW- when i say old i mean over a year old.

QFT. The studies that apparently showed that weight lifting stunts growth had the adolescents use what ever they wanted to, unsupervised, and without a program. It was inevitable that they would do stupid ****, like do 32632 sets of curls 8 days per week, etc. So in essence, all the studies proved was that extremely poor form, poor rest and nutrition will cause injuries in youths as well as adults.
If you want to get big, be good at the Squat, Deadlift, pull and bench press, the rest is between you and your dinner plate.
There are 10 types of people: those that understand binary and those that do not.
I was at the Zoo the other day, there was only one animal there: a dog. It was a ****zu.
You die at the end; act accordingly.

IMO, that's just an excuse that comes from somebody who's too lazy to work legs.
How many times have you guys heard "I don't need to work legs, I run!" Exactly. Ignorance and laziness.
If anything, it would make sense that growth would increase during training from increases in test and natural HGH. What might make sense is not always the case tho.IG: @toadkillerdog

I did track and basketball in high school, heard alot of stupid kids talk about that kind of stuff....I did the big three (squats, deadlifts and bench) and I outgrew alot of people on my team. ITS A TOTAL MYTH....do a searh if you like....this only affects kids that do weightlifting at an early age...im talking about 9-12. Good luck.
