increasing cals after long time diet

OK, my daily recommended caloric intake is about 2000 cals. for probably the last year my actual intake has been somewhere between 1200 and 1500 most days. the only way I get 2000 is on days that I cheat. my question is will my body have adjusted to this lower amount and how do I avoid putting on weight if I increase my calories back to the recommended amount?

If your calorie intake is higher than that then yes you will put on weight.
