ox you take your protein, 20 mins after working out? I was told a while ago, it should be taken immediatly after workout, although taking it when i got home was more convienent.. So on glutamine you should wait before taking in the protein?

im gonna dig up the article posted by fonz on elite on insulin and nutrient partitioning which explains everything in some detail. But its basic biology that there is only a certian amount of carrier proteins in the cell membranes and aminos and creatine all compete for the same sites, so if taken together not as much would get absorbed as if they were take on there own.

yea the water at room temperature, i read about that long ago, nothing to do with the glutamine though, just the fact that warm water digests faster.
So upon waking, 6am 5g glutamine, after my cardio which would be half hour or so later, 5g again? Then later on in my workout should i take before or after, because of taking it before bed, would be too many doses. If you could help me out with a glut schedule id appreciate it bro.

creatine isn't for bulking and glutamine isn't for cutting...you can take them anytime you want and yield results. and as far as I know you should take it all together in one shake. As of now it is believed to either take half of your shake 15min before workout and the rest after OR sip it slowly during the workout for maximum results.

During exercise glutamine may be used to create energy by the muscle cells and thus needs to be replaced post exercise. Also glutamine is essential in the transport of nitrogen, excretion of ammonia as the result of gluconeogenesis, and is used for energy by the immune system and intestinal cells. Creatine does not bloat me up when I use it, jeez - how are you taking it? I've heard of it bloating people up but I've never experienced the problem. Glutamine is ideal for cutting due to minimal muscle loss when one is in a cutting stage but is also beneficial at any time, especially post workout. Sorry if you think I'm wrong but maybe if you do a little research your opinions may change have a nice day!

This article will show you when to take some of the top supplements and how to get the most out of them.By: Shawn LeBrunSep 30, 2004EMAILMORESHAREIntroductionOut of the hundreds of e-mails I get each week, more than half are from people who are interested in knowing which supplements to take or what the best way is to take the supplements they're currently using. So this article will show you when to take some of the top supplements and how to get the most out of them.Creatine, glutamine, and protein are 3 of the top supplements for gaining lean muscle and strength. But what are the best times to take these proven supplements? Here's what I've found personally works best for me as well as tracking clients progress using these 3 supplements (which, by the way, are about the only 3 I recommend to clients, other than protein/meal replacements, EFA's and a good multi-vitamin).There's a lot of conflicting research that shows creatine and glutamine may compete directly with one another for cell transport and absorption. That's because both creatine and glutamine use the same transport method (sodium) to be absorbed by the body, so there's a chance that one will get absorbed more than the other.Even though there are different theories as to whether this is true or not, here's my thought:By-pass the entire problem by just splitting up the timing a little bit.Supplement Consumption TimingHere are the best times to take these 3 proven supplements: Creatine - Learn More Best taken 1/2 hour or so BEFORE a workout and again RIGHT after a workout. What I do is take a creatine/juice/protein drink about a half hour before a workout and than another shake right after. This "bracketing" technique helps set up an anabolic (muscle-building) state for your muscles and helps prevent muscle breakdown from a workout (catabolism).Other than these 2 opportune times, you can add another creatine serving or two any time throughout the day.I usually recommend 25 to 30 grams of creatine on a loading phase and 10-20 grams a day on a maintenance phase.[ View All Creatine Products ] Glutamine - Learn More Definitely take glutamine right before bed. This is where the overwhelming research shows the value of glutamine raising growth hormone levels significantly by taking 5 grams before bed. Also, another great time is upon waking, when your muscles have been without significant nutrition for up to 6-8 hours.Another good time for glutamine is about a half hour or hour after working out. This helps in the recovery/recuperation process from demanding workouts. So, creatine definitely before and after your workout and glutamine right before bed and right upon waking.
