As an atheist I tend to agree. Famous atheists are often incredibly smug & condescending-James Randi, Joe Nickell etc, not only to theists, but floaters, students & other atheists who might question some of their statements/studies for that matter. Prefer the affable style of people like Michael Shermer.

Early mid 2000's it seemed that Atheist were on the rise, basically blaming everything on religion and thinking they were superior. A lot of college professors jumped on it I know that. Failing students because they believed in God.
For one thing, they could not prove that being Atheist was somehow more beneficial. A lot of claims the activists made didn't come out to be true. Atheist seemed to be miserable people in general more than anything else. They became like gay and everything else were they were in people's faces about it, doing what they always talk about being so wrong pushing their views in people's faces, shunning people for believing in God. Finally, they would refuse to mess with Islam. They would ask if someone believed in God and if you said "Jesus is my lord and savior" they would laugh and challenge you, but if you said "Yes Allah is great!" they back off real quick.
