One of my close friends, who holds a position as a lead technical designer at Respawn/Apex Legends, has been laid off. It's really unexpected, especially considering EA's consistently strong performance. Looks like this trend might affect many others soon.

I guess he's not In The Game anymore.
Game development lay-offs have been happening for a couple of months now. They overhired during Covid and AAA gaming is on a downward trend due to corporate meddling.Into- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.
Anti- Lack of accountability. Censorship, fat acceptance, & current wave feminism. That's why I left the UK.
