I just read today about a 110 year old man living in NJ all alone, by himself, no health aide and he is still driving his car. Man's wife died back in the early 90s and he has been volunteering everyday at the local fire department. And he is happy.

Exactly this. Any time you have health issues they know your defences are down and they start taking advantage. Much better to be alone and not have to deal with that chit while you are struggling with major problems in your life.
