I will say I completely stopped following politics when biden won and had 90 million votes. And I used to listen to conservative radio everyday and followed it closely. I just have up. So I'm not sure what's going on. But it seems no one cares.

trump in 2016 was the culmination of political excitement as a guy out of nowhere started a huge movement...then 2020 was balls to the wall from dems wanting revenge...division, racism, sexism, xenophobia, covid and all that pushed to its peak. i think people are kinda burned out by this point. trump is going for a third round and biden has been around the presidency since 2008.

everything said about trump has already been said a million times...he's hitler!!! he's a criminal!! umm, like who cares to even hear that or argue it at this point? i guess dems thought they could get trump hung up on 3,457 indictments and that would surely be the end, but people don't even care about that at this point because they know it's mostly politics.

Election day is still over 6 months away. This race has effectively been going on since before the midterm elections. From all candidates announcing they're running, having primaries and election day should all be limited to under 6 months. The process runs like we're getting our mail via the Pony Express and physical newspapers are our only way of getting news, but we're bombarded constantly more than ever. Burnout. Plus they've both been Prez before, not up and comers in their parties.

A big issue is that it's been a foregone conclusion that we were getting Trump vs Biden Part II. In normal election cycles, we get some drama about whom the candidates will be, at least one side. But we didn't get any primaries this time. Since 2022, everyone penciled in Biden vs Trump, so there's not much to intruige people who have long known this was coming again

Conservative radio and media is just cuckery now. Fox news sucks...Limbaugh is dead....the right spokesman is Ben Shapiro who is annoying.

I think you are half right. It's just my hunch, but I think the democrats will still turn out in droves to make sure Trump isn't re-elected. Republicans are being told over and over that the elections are rigged so they don't have a lot of incentive to show up and vote, especially for a candidate they aren't excited about.

Not even that, one is FAR beyond the age of retirement and the other is a known grifter who's been indicted a dozen times. It blows my mind that either of them is even allowed to run, never mind being the top candidates for their respective parties. There should be an upper age limit for something as important as the US President.
