They're not that. The closest girl group in terms of popularity to the Spice Girls is another Kpop girl group called Blackpink. The girl group I posted is basically a few tiers below that.

Blackpink actually performed at Coachella and did really well. One of the biggest stories actually during their time there.

But this group Le Sserafim looks like they're getting ripped for their performance. And not surprisingly. A lot of Kpop groups cannot sing.

When the Kpop fad started around several years ago, there was a lot of good music and a decent amount of good singers. At least for a foreign music industry. The Kpop industry however in the last couple of years has changed dramatically. A lot of songs have become either too westernized, and not for the better, or has devolved into some really weird cookie cutter sh!t. And singing talent has taken a significant dip in quality.

Its because SK is a US ally. So they take advantage of the trade opportunities.

If SK pop groups are getting popular, it means US pop groups arn't making any money.

KPOP exploded in popularity in the west because the west was producing terrible pop post 2012. it wasnt catchy like pre 2012 pop, had degenerate lyrics, was all mimicking rap or some afrocarribean beat/influence. here comes kpop with cleancut lyrics, catchy beats, and positivity and its no wonder it got so popular.

now ironically kpop has been thugmaxxed and its got aggressive weird beats, all the sloots try to rap which is cringe, and sort of sucks now (blackpink, le sserafim etc). it will die out in popularity.

Lulz. That group is basically over. The members in it got greedy after the success of that song and decided to try to get out of their contracts with the agency. It backfired and resulted in the members being sued. Only one of the girls was able to weasel her way back to the group. But with new members and the hype from that song basically dead, they missed the boat on taking advantage. The brand is dead.

hate to break it to you, but modern K-pop is derived from 90s American bubblegum pop, which itself is derived from 80s black R&B.
