Should white men continue to be NYPD officers?

With the death of Ofc. Jonathan Diller this week, I was wondering, whether you think white guys should want to work in NYC as cops? The tension between white male cops and minorities in that city has been rife with rage for decades now.

I work in LE and I'd argue its not worth policing an area that's not predominantly conservative. And if you are white, predominantly white areas only.


When it comes to actual policing. The danger posed by a 'suspect' killing you is probably the least concerning/last thing you really worry about. Overall a lack of support by your department administration, the city officials and the community you work in are the absolute biggest issues of concern. If you are policing a more liberal/democratic area. You are quite literally wasting your time and opening yourself up to lawsuits, possibility of losing your job, and the health issues that the stress brings on.

Its one thing to risk being hurt/killed trying to apprehend a violent suspect. Its another thing entirely to have 0 support or backing when you have to hurt or kill someone during the course of your duty.




I'd say in 2024. If you genuinely are interested in 'helping people' or 'making a difference' in your community. You are likely to get hurt/killed/****ed over and lose your job. They literally have people/activists/news media just waiting to spin something against an officer and hopefully get him fired/arrested/imprisoned. Even if they have to lie/skew the facts against him.



There are still a lot of decent people out there worth protecting. But again it has to be a predominantly conservative area with good political leadership. If an area is left leaning you're better off letting it burn and relocating elsewhere. Not worth the liability.
