I always thought grooming was about kids, but the Diddy indictment describes a grown ass man thinking he was "groomed."
So wtf is grooming? If I meet a girl and say "hey X, my buddy Y is a great guy, you should meet him," have I groomed girl X?
If I give my buddy Y a ride to girl X's house to smash, have I just sex trafficked?
I'm really confused tbh.

I wonder about 'sex trafficing' too
If he threw a huge party and hired 10 hookers to party with him and the people there, does that qualify?
Obviously if he was doing the real sex trafficing then fuk him, like shipping girls places, etc, but what if he just hired a ton of escorts for money?
Idk, catch phrases worry me. If he was actually bad then fine but idk. I haven't read his charges at all.

Words don't necessarily mean what you think they mean.
When a girl says she was raped. Traditionally people would think of her walking alone at night and getting snatched up and forcibly penetrated.. Probably less then 1% of rapes. Most would be more along the lines of girl is partying/hanging out with a dude. They are using drugs/alcohol. They leave location together and continue to get more fukked up. Dude smashes. Afterwards girl either regrets it or genuinely didn't want to fugg. That's the majority of the cases.
When it comes to 'sex trafficking' everyone assumes its some perv/bad guy that forces some poor/unwilling person to fugg. Usually for money. The truth is the majority of the time, its 'willing' participants but they are coerved into it somehow. Typically through bribery. IE payments, given drugs, or coerced to do something. Maybe for their 'career' or future 'career'.
Etc.
When someone talks about 'grooming' in this manner. Just think of it as hanging out with someone. Talking/mentally preparing them to do things and slowly escalating over time. IE if you are grooming a girl to fugg. First you flirt. Then you touch. Then you might kiss. Etc. And in the end your hand is sliding down her pants....
Grooming is usually used towards under-aged people.
I have a hard time feeling sympathy for Diddy victims. All of them chose to be there. When whatever happened happened. They all chose to just take it and remain silent for the hopes of their career or money or whatever else. There's a reason why none of these 'rappers' that pretend they are hard didn't just kill him. Or nobody 'exposed' him over the years.

Grooming is when they are trained to obey. Either they are put through the moves, coerced, punished, or otherwise trained. Sometimes it can involve breaking them emotionally so they won't try to escape. It can involve gaslighting. Simply proposing someone have sex for money is not grooming, except maybe if they are a child.
As for trafficking, it overlaps grooming but mostly comes after it. It is where you make someone do the sex act. Often they travel a lot, but it is forcing someone to engage in commercial sex. Rarely are chains used. Coersion is a big part, but simply taking away their ID so they can't get a job or board a plane is effective too. The trafficker might also buy drugs in huge bulk for cheap, then get her addicted to them and be her only source. If she runs away, she gets sudden withdrawals and will be treated like a criminal.
