State begins talks about guaranteed $1,000 income for Illinois residents
Contrary to fears, the initiative saw an increase in employment among participants, with some using the funds to start businesses, pursue education, or enhance their skills.
Chicago’s own pilot program echoes these findings, with participants using the additional funds for job training, home repairs, debt reduction, and even simple leisure activities like dining out or going to the movies.
The positive feedback from these trials underscores the potential mental health and financial stability benefits of such a program.

this is EXACTLY how CAPITALISM should work! "a RICH FAMILY TAKES CARE OF ITS OWN" as Warren Buffett said. TAX System should be managed like Investing where the share-holders(TAX PAYERS) enjoy some FREEDOM DIVIDENDS and HEALTH CARE ROI!
Bernie Sanders was Right ALL ALONG!
I have read many articles PROVING this works. When people have Leisure and Security it leads to Creativity and Innovation!

Its like back in the gold rush days.
When it first started you could get a bucket and levis for like $1 each.
Soon as everyone started getting gold the prices of those things increased to $5, then $10 then like $100 each.
So no matter how much gold you got, the prices were adjusted to keep everyone but the top few at a certain level. Of course the guy selling the buckets made money but everyone else just experienced higher prices.
this is exactly what will happen to places that do stupid things like this. of course, learning from history is not liberals strong suit so it makes sense they will try it and then have a dumb look on their face when the unintended consequences happen."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

This thread is what happens when we stop teaching civics
Or when cynicism and nihilism take over
Maybe other stuff also idk“Man’s image of the nature of man is not only a matter for objective inquiry; it is and has always been a prime instrument of social and political control. He who moulds that image does so with enormous consequences for the society in which he lives.”
