Man eating like this sucks.
I'm putting spinach in my scrambled eggs now and have to get up earlier to make those regularly instead of just on weekends.
At work they only have those ***e Greek Yogurts with the honey so of course it will taste better. Now I'm eating a cup of Greek Yogurt. I think those have 1/4 cup. So I have to bring my Greek yogurt to work. Another hassle.
Black bean soup.
Veggie Stir fry with quinoa. Half at dinner and then bring the next to work. Another thing to remember to bring.
The good part is I'm really full whereas when I eat protein bars and shakes I'm always hungry.
What's hard about work is they have these "healthy"snacks-- whole wheat fig bars and almond butter snacks and those taro chips. Sometimes I get so busy I would eat those for lunch and they're not filling at all.
I keep telling myself I don't want to end up like my Mom who had a stroke and heart attack and has been in complete misery screaming and crying for 2 years.
Soooo, it's worth the sugar withdrawal.....but ugh. After drinking 4-5 cocktails a day traveling I miss fruit juice.

I agree. It takes a lot of discipline.
Then you go to these vacation places filled with tropical drinks (including lots of fruit juice), breakfast buffets with pancakes and grits, and I return with totally different taste buds and cravings since I can't remember the last time I had pancakes.
But it's not only discipline when you're 50+. It's living longer and not in the horrid state my Mom is in.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

I agree. I was doing really well with the weight loss before I went to Thailand, although I could have gained a lot of muscle as I hadn’t exercised for 4 months due to Covid and pneumonia and I was walking 20,000 steps and swimming daily.
Then I started lifting heavily and playing tennis again.
But I’m afraid the cocktails put me over the calories and then you have that constant sweet taste in your mouth. Now everything seems like yuck.
I’m adding fruit for dessert to help with this.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

you'll never change, give it up, just fill your freezer with pints of iced cream. Start you days with a dozen doughnuts and an extra tall frappecino. Snack on pop tarts and french fries. Eat your chicken nuggets with cups of ketchup. Supersize your daily mcdonalds meals. Only drink soda, forget the water. Eat all the chit you want, bloat up even more.

Instead of having to make eggs everyday why not just make a couple quiches. You can keep them in the fridge for a week and can freeze them as well.
I just made this the other night. This one is a crust less smoked turkey, egg and cheese. I make veggie ones all the time but for this one just wanted protein.

This. I think it’s mostly women though. My office is mainly women and they NEED breakfast, lunch and a snack at 3pm
It’s sort of sad. Yet I’m the weird one when I tell them I’m omad.
I also love the typical chicken broccoli rice stuff. So many spices etc to mix it up, I kinda look forward to getting home to dinner.
When I do break my “diet” I’ll get cravings non stop. No need for cheat meals when you enjoy what you make. I also don’t understand the “it’s vacation” mentality. You can eat respectably on vacation. You don’t have to binge or drink or anything. You use “it’s vacation” as an excuse to not have discipline.Proof Angels exist: OzleyASMR

I don’t eat like that and eating fast food and frozen meals is why my Mom has been mostly brain dead and in a nursing home for 2 years.
Before I ate mostly protein bars, shakes (but filled with dates and sugar), and salads with protein. Then that moved to soup when it got cold. I bitched about the salads with protein but found a dressing I like.
I put myself in anorexia 24 years ago so now when I get hungry I get anxious. Eating more protein at lunch will help me not be so hungry at 4pm.
I know. I haven’t been in the office this week but the gas is annoying and I forgot to pick up Beano at Rite Aid.
That’s a great idea. I’m not a big quiche person but really what’s the difference from what I’m making every morning? Thank you.
I liked your other suggestion of grilled cheese sandwich and a protein shake to get yo the 100g of protein a day.
Yeah it’s totally true. Drinking cocktails like a fish makes you crave fruit juice. In NOLA I had to have the pecan pie. Then I ate much healthier in Florida. But still those cocktails and the fruit juice.
So I have some Crystal Light sweetened with Stevia as I don’t eat artificial sweeteners.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

Yeah I'm the same, got a feeling its considered an eating disorder. I have been made fun of so many times for only being seen eating chicken with some sauce or people say chit to me when I don't eat donuts or chit like oh yeah all he eats is chicken broccoli and rice...
Yeah you're the victim as always, no one else on this earth has had an eating disorder so you're special!!! I'm sorry for giving an opinion...
I think what would help is if you had a better understanding of food/nutrition/calories, instead of going off what the clickbait articles say...

Of course. No one forces you to choose to eat certain foods.
Then after NOLA I was like crap I put on my Jean’s again that were loose and then they were tighter.
But I brought bands to exercise in my hotel room and used them.
I was able to wear shorts without feeling self conscious for the first time in years.
I never said I’m the victim and I’ve been on eating disorder forums for years. I know there are a lot of people out there.
I’ve given presentations to classes and groups of athletes at Stanford and San Jose State and had many women come up to me after the presentation and tell me their stories. It’s only getting worse with social media—not better.
I chose to eat nothing but protein bars then. Someone close to me is only eating one protein bar a day, running 2x a day and light weights. That’s even more concerning to me now!
I’ve seen Kimm write on here that you can eat more than just chicken and broccoli. One day she posted a pic in my thread about having a grilled cheese sandwich with a protein shake to get in your protein for the day.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

Oops I got quiche and frittata mixed up! I’m sick and kind of out of it. I love quiche and used to get the spinach and cheese from Whole Foods but the crust is so fattening but I noticed they had one without the crust.
That’s a great idea to bake them yourself!! Then you can just heat it up in the morning.
I made a chickpea, veggie and quinoa stir fry last night with an extra serving that I can just heat up.Make It a Great Day! Just call me Dusty. It's a Clown 🤡 World out there.

I normally make them with a crust but I'm cutting back on carbs so I make them crust less. I do very few carbs but I take a couple slices and break them up on a couple pieces of toast...just right!
Recipe if you need it:
7 whole eggs
1 cup milk
salt, pepper and anything you like
veggies, meats and 1.5 cups of cheese of your choice
If crust less bake on 350 for 40 min
If crust bake uncovered for 25 min and remainder of time cover with foil (so you don't burn your crust)Last edited by kimm4; 03-28-2024 at 09:35 PM.
