It’s mind blowing to me the disparity in pay and productivity.
Think about working at Popeyes. You stand on your feet in front of hot fryers all day, taking demands from rude ghetto customers, prepping food, mopping floors, dumping trash. It’s exhausting work, yet they only earn minimum wage. As low as $7.25 in some states. Society will call it unskilled. I call it a major contribution to society. They’re feeding the public and providing a value.
When I worked in a department store, I used to organize the entire 30,000 sq ft store, cash out entitled @$$holes, unload trucks, unpack boxes, build furniture, stock merchandise. It wasn’t easy. I made only $8/hr back then.
Now I work in an office and literally just sit staring at a screen, barely being productive for $25/hr. The work I was doing back then justified such a wage. This doesn’t (srs).
It’s insane that companies shell out six figures to people who do nothing but type on a keyboard and create bullchit spreadsheets that contribute nothing to society. Meanwhile the lifeblood of America, the service workers, the line cooks, the tradies, etc. they’re all busting their ass to make crumbs.

Sure, they work hard, but ultimately if you work at a job that pretty much anyone can do and don't possess an actual marketable skill, your pay is going to be chit. Hard work doesn't guarantee a solid income, you have to provide something that has actual value. There are many that slip through the cracks in office work and steal a living, but there's also many who are able to make, and move a lot of money by 'staring at a screen', and this is why their skill is valuable even if they don't neceserily work hard.
Not hating on min wage employees, and maybe this isn't fair, but this is the truth.

It's worse for NHS GP's/doctors in the UK. Brb med school for like 8-11 years. Unpaid overtime, working nights, 10 mins per appointment, have to write and send referrals on their lunch break and stay late to catch up on records. At the end of it all their NHS pay band is less than a fkin train driver lmao. I hear a lot of them are noping out of there and moving to America for a bit more training and actually earn 6 figs instead of like £40k they get currently.

GP's are not on 40k in the UK, junior doctors sure. I know quite a few GP's and all are on 6 digits (GBP) or close to it:
"Salaried general practitioners (GPs) in England earn £68,975 to £104,085 depending on the length of service and experience. Within Wales, GP salaries are set at £71,738 to £108,249, in Scotland they are £69,993 to £104,468 and in Northern Ireland, £69,974 - £105,592."
Still probably too little for a GP i'd agree and they'll make more in US, but let's not perpetuate flat out misinformation.

Yep.
And when minimum wage goes up those jobs with low barrier of entry and any type of required training (line cooks is a good example)
Become completely inaccessible to new labor.
If I’m paying all my cooks 20 bucks an hour, I’m not teaching anyone how to cook anymore.“Man’s image of the nature of man is not only a matter for objective inquiry; it is and has always been a prime instrument of social and political control. Hard work does not equal good/quality work....and just because you "work hard" doesn't mean chit.
Minimum wage work is just that.....minimum. They do the same chit that the average person does at their house......literally anybody with a functioning body has the ability to do this work.....and nothing is special/unique or requires any sort of brain power to do it. Is it physically taxing, sure.....but again, anyone with a functioning body can do it....nothing separates you from the next person who can run a mop and dump fries into a hopper.
Some people....a lot of people....don't have the mental capacity to even comprehend some of the qualities necessary to be in office positions, management positions, positions that make decisions, positions of low supervision that have to operate on their own.....and I find it ridiculously hilarious when people complain about how much managers, VP's, Presidents & CEO's and such make/get paid......they are literally running the company, steering the ship, making decisions and planning the future of the company that you (the minimum wage worker) mindlessly work for, just showing up every day having to be told what to do.

That being said the system needs some temperance
Companies are too large and are effective monopolies at this point. They should be split up into many different smaller companies, with many different ceos that interact with each other. Or they should shoulder the tax burden of small businesses and give them room to compete. Or else I fear we are heading to a post-oligarchy dystopia.“Man’s image of the nature of man is not only a matter for objective inquiry; it is and has always been a prime instrument of social and political control. He who moulds that image does so with enormous consequences for the society in which he lives.”

Board members and corporate leadership, I understand. They’re making crucial decisions that affect the lives of their entire workforce and shareholders. They deserve to be compensated considering the immense responsibility they’re taking on.
But low level office drones up to even middle management don’t deserve chit srs. Just as you say anybody can drop fries into a bucket, anyone with a room temperature IQ can type up reports and send emails.
A huge chunk of a day in the office is bullchit busywork meant to look productive because there’s nothing actually meaningful to accomplish. I still believe it’s more skillful to flip burgers too. Most of the country feels they’re too good to get their hands dirty. It takes brainpower and manpower to run a restaurant or maintain a facility as janitors do. Office work doesn’t even require a functioning body and barely needs a working mind.
Modern men can’t even change a tire, let alone operate a grill at lunch hour. The pressure would flatten them. Sitting in an air conditioned building with a latte on their desk somehow justifies a middle class wage in this marketplace. Makes no sense to me. Physical labor jobs deserve way more compensation.

I did work the line at Burger King in the 90s. Time fuking flew by because the mind is constant go go go (during lunch). 2 years later my job was an food expeditor at a huge water front seafood restaurant. BK was much more stress.
This was when BK wasn't anywhere near as ghetto (1990s)

To what extent ? Does mcdonalds close during summer break? Are they closed when schools in session M to F ? The average age of a fast food employee is like ~27 . The old "its for highschool kids" trope is one of the weakest arguments against raising wages in these sorts of positions.
I'm far from one of these "pay them $25/hour" people, but like most debates, there is definitely a middle ground to be found.
Wages in these sorts of roles should increase hands down. Mcdonalds profits in the 10's of billions yearly. Their CEO is paid in excess of 20 million per year.
They can afford to bump wages. Again, this will vary by area, but in my area crew workers make ~$15/hour. no reason this can't be bumped to $18 or $19. Mcdonalds prices have been raised and continue to increase regardless.
If such a chit job is meant to spur people on into higher education or trade programs, then mcdonalds should offer a better tuition reimbursement incentive.
There is compromise to be made, middle ground to be found. Again, I'm not saying a McDonalds employee should be paid a wage that affords a truly middle class lifestyle, but they should be paid more and have a better avenue towards advancement/betterment.Reps to all BJJ/grappling/MMA bros.

What really trips me out is the difference in pay between technicians and supervisors or office positions in actual industries. Office jobs like safety/training/QC are usually a pay cut from whatever they were getting as an hourly employee. I'll probably end up getting $10k-30k more than any of em this year just turning a wrench LMAO.

I actually don’t believe we should pay based on skill set, simply because most “skills” are bullchit. We have soyboys pulling $250k/yr in Human Resources or marketing because they have a degree in being told how to think. It’s ridiculous. I’m not saying work ethic alone should determine pay, but the impact your job has on the greater society is a good marker.
Someone who cleans hospitals is ensuring the facility can operate. They are essential to the function of doctors, patients and supporting staff. They deserve more than a queer who sends Tweets about diversity for a living. Yet they don’t actually make more. Unfair AF cuz!
I was fed that same lie. My grandpa was an FOP Sicilian tradie turned business owner. My dad is a lifelong tradie. Every man in my extended family has worked some physical job from managing restaurants, to working as a butcher, to driving a truck.
I ended up going the white collar route. The pay is marginally better, but the human cost was NOT worth it.
LMAO. You retarded brah?

I was reading the Trt nation faq checking on refill dates and noticed that they put an age cutoff of 24 which I think means they’ll just hand it out like candy if you’re at least 24.
10 ml 200 costs $250 which is a lot more but:
-you never have to worry about improper dosing again
-if you have an hsa, you can pay with pre tax dollars which is an effective 20-30 % discount
-aromatase inhibitor comes with it
-they have higher doses available, if you can swing that, can just order less frequently and still do 200 just at a lower price

Oh yeah, i'm well aware of this. The perfect position is a position that is higher up than entry level but not supervisory/managerial.
In my job I basically do everything my boss does but I don't have to babysit a bunch of adults dealing with drama, hiring/firing and making schedules or being on call. I just do my work (which can be finished in about 4-5 hours) and thats it. I've been offered a supervisory position but it only pays 5 more dollars per hour for a CHIT ton of more responsibility. No thanks.

I get what you're saying, OP. Which is why I don't crap on people doing physically demanding jobs, unless they're really bad at it and DGAF if they're inconveniencing others. On the other hand, most other jobs have a reason for higher wages, including physically demanding ones like plumbers and electricians. An electrician can do the fast food worker job with a few hours of training and observation, but the fast food worker can't do much of the electrician's job even with a month of hands on training.
Specialization will always be able to demand a higher wage. Hell it can be something like being fluent in Spanish, which can be used as a reason to get a higher wage than coworkers in the same job. Or learning a skill that isn't difficult but most everyone else thinks is boring, yet is necessary for keeping things running smoothly. Wages usually pan out the way they do for good reasons. That said, it's usually insecure people who crap all over fast food workers or cleaners, etc.Light weight! Light weight baby!!!!

imagine someone with low IQ trying to do an office job working with spreadsheets, emails etc. Their brain would explode. Anyone with a pulse can do manual work, but office jobs are borderline impossible for a surprisingly large percentage of the population, hence the pay disparity.

Two things.
First. You have to literally be retarded to be earning the federal minimum wage. I have worked at McDonald's as a cashier and even then I was getting paid more than the state minimum wage, which was higher than the federal minimum wage. I actually don't know anyone who has worked for minimum wage in the last 20 years or so, regardless of the job.
Second, minimum wage jobs are not hard. They're not difficult, they may be tedious, but that's because you're doing the same two things all day long. Having worked fast food and tons of other entry level no skill jobs, none of them were hard. The hardest thing is dealing with the boredom.
If a McDonald's cashier fuks up, you may get a pickle when you wanted no pickles in your burger, or you'll get the wrong change. If I fuk up in my job, then a company ends up losing multiple millions of dollars per day in productivity and sales. In fact, I just saw this happen and saw a director of IT for a large company get fired out of a canon for just that.
When are you gonna stop coping and get your life in order OP?When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
