I'll usually work up to a heavy single in the 80-100lb range. Then ill do volume work at 50-60% of my max. One day a month I'll pull back on the weight and really go for speed.

With OLY shoes, a belt and some chalk with wrist wraps its really a safe movement. Strength is just as important as muscular endurance and or hypertrophy training. To make sure my tendons are thick like corded steel I do singles with heavy weight. Sometimes If I hit a sticking point in the movement I'll do modified exercises to work on my weak spot. This past training cycle I'm having issues slowing towards the top of the side raise. My gym has a punch meter next to the boxing section, so I adjust the pad that reads force to meet my hand as I lockout a side raise. I'll get lighter weight and work on producing as much force as I can at the lockout with the pad measuring my progress. Added 5lbs to my 1 rep max in a 12 week cycle. You should see my single handed cable grip reverse tricep pulldown workouts.

Buncha form nazis in here. Explain Sam Sulek if strict form is that important.
I'll be honest I used to think strict form was super important too. And in general to this day I still have pretty good form but I have learned that it's not as important most people make it out to be. At least not when it comes to growing a good physique. At the best the argument for it is to ensure an injury doesn't occur forcing a setback. That still holds. The idea you'll "get more out of it" by lowering the weight with stricter form is just wrong though.
