This office job is rotting my brain

And my body. I’m objectively worse off in every single aspect except money.

Before I started this job:
-quick witted & intelligent
-creative
-positive outlook
-always dreaming of business opportunities/side hustles
-lifted 5-6x/week
-peak physical condition
-normal blood pressure
-slept 8 hours every night
-high test
-happy
-broke AF

After working here:
-IQ dropping like a rock
-constant creative slump
-negative mindset
-abandoned any dream of starting a business
-lifting 2-3x/week max
-still stronger than 90% of officels but noticeably weaker and fatter
-medicated for high blood pressure
-sleeping 6 hours
-low test
-depressed
-no longer broke, but not exactly flourishing at $50k/yr lmao

Working an office job as a man is the equivalent of chopping your fking balls off, I swear…

You’re right. I look on indeed weekly though and, due to my qualifications and lack of a college degree, it’s all the same bullchit office work paying like $45-55k per year. What’s the point of starting over with no benefits or PTO when it’s going to be the same miserable situation?

Stop looking for office work and look to make a career change.....maybe one that you have to take a step or 2 back in salary but has a path you can follow or will send you to school to get certifications and they you can get raises and promotions.

Why would you even be considering just making a lateral move to some other chitty office job.....would just be the same chit for a different company with different faces.

Change career paths man......you might have to start at entry level but it would be worth it if you put in the work.

Also, while i don't doubt your job is soul destroying, this sounds like a 'will' problem and not a job problem. Everything you claimed to do 'before', you could still continue to do if you use your willpower instead of caving because 'life is too hard cos muh job'. Some men are simply not strong enough to ride the current of life and handle the chit it throws at you, whilst maintaining a strong will and enthusiasm for life. But ultimately, life will always be throwing something at you, and if every time that occurs you fall into a nihilism davik-hole, then life is going to be pretty chitty. Since you fall into this davik-camp, i'd suggest you seek help for chronic depression you appear to be suffering from, because it's evident you don't possess the mental tools to get through this without help.
