    Paying for a fitness coach is such a waste of money

    Just LOL @ all these cucks on instagram paying $300-400 monthly for someone to tell them their "macros" or how to eat chicken rice and broccoli 6 times a day

    Unless you are in contest prep and need an advanced cycle protocol layout it's a waste of money. Can people really not use google?

    personally i think Gyms are fckn joke for the vast majority of people, havent trained in one for over 30 years , super fit , lean and healthy, why waste money on some BS subscription , waiting on some annoying cnt to get off the stupid machine you want, hours wasted getting there and back.

    train at home, with minimal equipment , a pair of dumbells, cables , a heavy punching bag and my own bodyweight

    play sport and go for a walk....................

    Lots of people struggle with motivation. I had clients who literally wouldn't work out unless they were in front of someone, and they were willing and able to pay for it, so if they are going to pay someone, it might as well be me. They also appreciated the attention to details. But yes, for 98% of people they are a complete waste of time - which is why online coaches struggle. First of all, it's totally saturated and second of all, people realize pretty quick that they can recycle programs and use previous workouts because the changes are like "do a Bulgarian split squat instead of an RDL".

    I always wonder how often these contest prep coaches fap to their clients posing for them in bikinis under the idea of "checking in". When I did contest prep I had a few female clients and it was insane that they would basically send me nude pics and pay me for it. Yes fapped to a couple of them more than once.

    Agreed. Anything they're gonna tell clients is pretty basic chit that can easily be found online these days. They weren't very useful 20+ years ago, either. At best, their existence might help motivate someone to get to the gym, but relying on someone else to make a lifestyle change typically results in failure long-term

    i've had 5 clients before - all from instagram people wanting to "look like me"

    All I did was copy some diet online and made a couple hundred bucks

    I don't know. I signed up for one for a month with one lady I've known for 10 years and she has a phone app and a web site with workouts, customized meal plans, group motivation, etc.

    I'm vegetarian so she provided me with some easy vegetarian meal plans that are different every week and easy. Many I had never thought of. So those are in the app. 4 weeks of different meal plans. When I had an in-person trainer she gave me the same meal plan every day. I got so sick of it that when I went off of it I started binging. They're easy to prepare, too.

    She also gave me workout plans that I never even thought of with circuit training and high volume that I never thought of, but makes sense when you're trying to lose weight. I always did the traditional 3 sets of 10-12 and my heart rate was never over 100. With these workouts my heart rate went over 120. They're on YouTube with thumbnails in the app.

    I wore shorts for the first time last Thursday without feeling self-conscious. Lost 3 inches in 4 weeks.

    The monthly cost is $19 a month so it's easy to have the diet, exercise, group chat, all in the app for reference.

    She's a bikini and fitness model who isn't too muscular so of course I'd like to look like her but that's not realistic. Plus she has implants which I won't get.

    My medication makes me really sleepy so it gives me the extra motivation. Plus if I come home from work, take a nap, sometimes I'm not motivated to go to the gym at 9pm so she has band workouts for home and for traveling.

    My wife and I have a membership at a HiiT studio. its not quite a fitness coach or personal training but they do offer with that membership daily routines that are very well thought out and also rough meal plans and tracking of things like BF, BMI, etc.

    I will say having some else do the programming for you and having a heart rate monitor on your to hold you accountable to push yourself made a difference for me. After a few years.....to this day every work out is still challenging. Almost feels like they know exactly how to push you to your close your limit.

    When I went to the gym on my own I found that i fell into a routine based on my lack of understanding of how to program.

    One thing is to "look" good. I think its harder to program to be a better well rounded athlete. Gym bros come into BJJ weekly thinking they will be good to go and within 2-3 rounds of sparring (even lightly) they are huffing and puffing and about to pass out.

    Some people can't motivate themselves. They are weak.

    I LOL when I see trainers re-racking the weights for their clients.

    Same with spin classes. Tried a couple with the GF. It's basically someone screaming through a megaphone telling you how beautiful you are. How hard is it to just throw on some running shoes and go for a jog (srs)?

    You can pay someone to help accelerate the time it takes to learn all of this stuff. You've been doing this for years so macros and which exercises to do are second nature to you. To a lot of people, they don't even know what a macro is, let alone what the right ratios are to achieve what they are looking for.

    They could spend a year or more going through trial and error and researching the way you likely did, or accelerate that and focus on the execution, and spend $20/month.

    the thing about getting in shape is consistency and calories in calories out and enjoying foods you eat that fit into your lifestyle

    if a coach gives you a diet that you don't enjoy eating it will not work as simple as that

    To lose weight all you need to do is track your progress and eat less every week... only time a coach is needed is if you are contest prepping and really need that extra eye to get contest lean

    but for the average person wanting to lose weight? That $300/month could buy so much good food....
