I get a 401k with match from employer but I’m a full blown doomer and I believe the collapse of western society is coming in my lifetime what stocks will be good for this scenario? I’m thinking of shorting oil and investing in guns and ammo manufacturers what other stocks should I invest in?

While it’s good to have some supplies, guns, and other stuff for emergencies, it’s just bear porn you watch on TV that leads you to believe some collapse is coming. There are no collapses. While you wait for collapse people make insane amounts of money investing in growth AI stocks and crypto. For example, if you had 100 shares in bitcoin microstrategy you’d make 20k today, in one day… I and many others did just that.
You know why that is? it’s because there is one collapse that sure is coming, it’s here already, it’s always been here, it’s the collapse of paper money, a gradual collapse, so if you don’t own things that hedge against inflation (real estate, stocks, bitcoin) you’re indeed going to collapse…
I guess you’re right, there is a collapse coming, but not the kind you’re thinking of. These collapses are long and quiet as your money turns into toilet paper.
