Took a job 11 years ago, best friend's older brother went on to be VP of sales and I took his position.
With him as the VP of sales, I'm extraordinarily well off in my ability to keep my job. I have made mistakes that would have ended others. And now my seniority allows me to survive layoffs easily.
And now....as I'm reviewing other positions, I'm f*cking terrified to go somewhere else because I'm just not used to adapting to another company.
Kinda screwed myself

There's nothing wrong with staying where you're comfortable but chances are unless you shop around for a better position every now and then, you're probably underselling yourself
I stayed with the same company 10 years because I was genuinely happy there, was treated very well and had great job security
One day though there was a black swan event in my company and I left. I'm now making nearly 50% more just 2 years after leaving
In hindsight I would've been better off leaving sooner than 10 years into itMonster0ultra self proclaimed "Chad" face pic looks like vtech school shooter: https://i.imgur.com/z2m6Why.jpg

The biggest fear I have about my job is they won’t fire me lol.
Absolute worst case scenario, I stay and become just become them.I only read thread titles and my own posts.

I want to leave because my boss aka friend aka vp sales limits my growth.
I'm as high as I can get here. Just below VP by 1 step.
Other men in my position have had their positions for 25 years and are still in the same role. It's a high role, don't get me wrong.
But...I'm actually quite board and unchallenged here.[My wife drank 9 Adios MFers in one night on a business trip with her boss]
