Why are humans the only form of life capable of intelligence.

Last time that I looked into it, no one has ever recovered any actual dinosaur bones, all the skeletons are man made

No OP, evolution is one of the most well attested theories in human history.


Your notion of half-human/half apes, at least in terms of intelligence and such, sounds like it's presuming a linear view of evolution. Evolution isn't linear, it's tree-ish. We don't come from monkeys and chimps and apes, we share a common ancestor. We're two branches that came from an earlier, thicker branch, which came from millions of other thicker branches.

Some of these common ancestors went onto become monkeys, others apes, others us. Plus, we fit in the group known as Homininae which includes chimpanzees and humans. Compared to other apes, chimpanzees might even be said to be half ape, half-human creatures.

There were actually intermediaries in intelligence between us and apes and chimps etc. We're the only surviving species of Homo left. Neanderthals, Denosivans, Homo Erectus, Heidelbergensis. We're more intelligent than them and outcompeted them for resources.



And top of all that, you have Nazi miscers who actually believe these species still walk amongst us.

Think about your argument. Lets say that there were an ape/chimp between a chimpanzee in terms of intellect. Lets call this ape "smart chimp". You could still just say "why aren't there something between smart chimps and humans?"

To answer your question more directly:

- Humans aren't the only form of life capable of intelligence. There are many animals smarter than many humans, including great apes, whales and Orcas to name a few. Also birds and canines can be highly intelligent.

- The most obvious reason I can think of for the lack of other animals approximating our intelligence is (1) cross breeding, i.e. humans are a result of different "species" breeding, thus mixing their genetics. Remember that "race", "species" etc. at its core are just terms given by scientists to better understand nature. Its us humans putting things in boxes, this doesn't necessarily happen in nature. (2) Other intelligent species could go extinct by losing out to humans. Remember that while humans are very intelligent and thus strong in numbers, we are very physically weak compared to apex predators like lions and tigers. We are also weak to the elements like cold etc. Its obviously likely that other species close to humans would face a lot of the same issues.

Anyways, if you really cared you would probably read some wikipedia articles that explains your questions thoroughly. But creationists aren't exactly known for their curiosity and openness, hehe.

FYI I believed in evolution for decade and a half - I even have a bachelor degree in science, so I've done all of the science experiments where you splice genes into bacteria and am quite familiar with 'conserved regions of DNA' and other so called 'proofs of evolution' and 'common ancestry' yada yada.

Now that I think about it more critically, it just doesn't make sense that human beings are the only creature to have evolved higher cognitive functions such as metacognition, if evolution is real.

I can honestly say that believing in evolution requires more blind faith than believing that we were created by a supreme being that resides in a higher plane of existence.

What evidence is missing, to support the theory of evolution? You are also mistaken about metacognition being a human only trait, this is a phenomenon that comes in degrees. Apes, crows, various sea creatures like dolphins, octopi etc. show metacognitive ability.
