Yup. Schit weather and bad geography doesn't exactly make for a great variety of food. The best food is Mediterranean and Mexican, warm weather places where a vast variety of crops have grown since forever, before recent human intervention. Some of the world's most popular and tastiest crops grow well in humid or tropical areas, others in mineral rich highlands, neither of which northern Europe has. Highlands of northern Europe are very rocky and schit soil. Hell, that's much of the reason the Vikings traveled as far as they did, their soil was schit. Meat, potatoes, cream, and a scarce amount of other crops growing well in such conditions = schit food choices that get boring very quickly.
