Tech layoffs have nothing to do with real talent

Tech companies are started by techies, who hire techies to manage.

Somewhere along the line, a boomer or someone without thetalent gets a job to manage techies.

This leads to what i call "Add-Ons". Add-Ons are people who aid the actual talent in areas which clog up their workflow, and are typically neccessary to a point.

It's when these "Add-Ons" are hired based on D&I, or attractiveness (HBB hires) that things get messy, and eventually the force of "Add-Ons" become a detriment, causing more harm than good and eating up profit margins in ways that go beyond their salaries.

Truth is, every tech worker worker you know is more useless than you think. At the heart of every major company is a small handful (or sometimes just 1) true techie.

This is the person where workflows originate from, and in worst case scenarios the larger companies lose sight of who they are within an ocean of "Add-Ons" who can make it seem impossible to find where the actual production is originating from.

This is why Layoffs happen. If your place as an "Add-On" is considered essential by the producer, then you have no reason to worry about being laid off.

Tech companies doubled down bigly on DEI hiring when the economy was still strong, now that Bidenomics has been hitting them hard the layoffs are happening. About 90%+ of their diversity hires are just useless people they gifted a job to for political points.

When it comes to minorities, a company like Microsoft is a benevolent example and yet this won't apply for 99.9% of other companies.

    Why?

The best and the brightest from around the world aspire to work at Microsoft, thus the company ends up with some of, if not the smartest people from every ethnic background. Which is a good thing for the U.S. as a whole since it can be seen as a brain magnet, absorbing top talent from around the world.

Everything they claim to be a bad thing is a good thing when it negatively effects white people!
