You'd have a good point if GDP wasn't fake and gay, but it is. Every time you buy real estate, trade a stock, pay a legal/licensing fee etc, that's counted as GDP. Nothing was produced but it still counts as "product".

Western countries have way more of that bullchit going on compared to Russia and China. If you look at any individual dollar in the GDP of those countries, it's far more likely to have come as a result of food being grown, metals being mined, or finished goods coming out of a factory than it is in the west. They simply make way more stuff than us, and our leadership tries to hide it by counting dumb chit as GDP.
