Iv been out of the military for over 10 years but I think I am ready to go back.
The reason I joined the first time around was to defend my country.
It’s nice that there’s now leadership that’ll allow me to do just that.

I'm not US so leaving any political comments to others (I've no idea of the politics of your country), but from a general personal challenge, getting fit, kicking azz.. then definitely rep worthy! Go for it, good luck.
I understand the reserve forces in UK, but how does National Guard work? Is this general infantry or do you have specialisms, like sapper, logistics, dentistry, airborne etc, etc, etc. If so what would you join to do - infantry?
But, you're getting no Reps from me!
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to BlackJack619 againLast edited by OldFartTom; 01-25-2024 at 12:55 AM.

Good for you BJ, sounds interesting, after I retired a few of my younger colleagues went on to be drone operators and later worked in the field as civilians. I haven't been in contact with them in years but they did enjoy it.

that is right. He mentioned defending his country.
Now. Purely academic question, how would drone operator “defend” his country if there is no invasion. Never in history of mankind, an invasion to united states. States, the country with biggest most expensive military in the world.
I would understand if OP was going for workouts and playing with guns, while getting paid for it, like everybody else. But no, delusional want to “defend” his country in ****lia or JibutiLast edited by weiss1967; 01-25-2024 at 05:02 PM.

Hope it doesn't offend anyone if I start discussing exercise on a B.B.com forum but where's your training at for this? Now I'm not going to lay any claim to be military (justifiably I'd get called out for BS) but the very small amount I've experienced of reserves (combat engineer)... in my briefest and smallest of experience is that you need all day endurance even in non infantry.
Never got asked by anyone what I could lift, but I remember going running, lots and lots of running and pushups ("press ups"). Pushups if the guy who has the bed next to you fkd up. If you were running and the pt taking the run saw there was some massive pool of water/mud, then guess what, time for pushups. I'm resisting the overused corny joke that your squat means squat, but you get the idea.
Hope you're good at all day on your feet endurance, can run and run and run and love doing lots of pushups, sit ups and wheelbarrows (someone holds your feet while you walk/run on your hands, swap for the way back) pull-ups of course! but less so than running and pushups. Endurance distance running fitness is king. Get some rucking done too. Sorry if all the above is moronically obvious, just asking...
Anyway... where's your training currently with all this?
Edit: I'm not qualified to give you any training advice on this, I'm just being very nosy. But there are a few regulars here who are eminently qualified, so if you need it, hope they'll advise you...?Last edited by OldFartTom; 01-26-2024 at 03:13 AM.

You fools will someday be asking us Americans to supply you with guns once that globalist homo true dough is done with your sphincters.
There is an invasion. The people coming in are not Mexicans. They’re mostly military aged men from China, Africa and the Middle East.
You know. People that hate Whites and want to bend you over so they can stick firecrackers up your poopers.
Good lawd. Are you liberals that blind? This above all..

Texas National Guardsmen and guardsmen from other state who support Texas are indeed the definition of “defending our nation.”
Phuck the DC empire and all communist democrats and spineless RINOs.
We are hopefully seeing the beginning of watering that Tree of Liberty. It’s long overdue. This above all..
